Went here for my husbands grad with a larger group about 10 people. All the food was delicious from the appetizers to the mains. Lord of great and deep flavours. I have shared pictures of most of the meals so you can see how large the portions are. The restaurant seems very clean and is well decorated. Want to give a special shout out to Boris who was our server, he was so kind and helpful and made sure we had a wonderful evening. Thank you and highly recommend
So I have a lot to say about this joint. The service was quite poor. We went on a Monday night so there was not much human traffic as I also called earlier to book a table. The attendant dropped our drinks on the table without caring to place the right cups according to the order. My wife requested the water be cold but it was brought without ice. Not once were we asked if we found everything alright. I would have given this feedback to them. The food was manageable. The ribs were very chewy and dry. The steak you see is 50$ and all that came with it is one side. We chose the mashed potatoes but the steak and mashed potatoes didn't come with gravy. Even when we asked, we were told no gravy. The beef soup was filled with more rice noodle than expected. You can see the presentation of the bruschetta in the pics. The calamari was about 18$ and it was soggy. I guess from the outside, it looked really inviting and I guess I really had high hopes at least for the meal even if we received poor service. Prices seem to be decent but food presentation and composition needs to be improved.
Great Serbian cuisine cafe, with the best Balkan dishes and some typical Austrian and Greek specialties. In general excellent European cuisine. Most dishes are meat and there are some excellent meat bladders but there are a few vegetarian options as well. Book service on a very pleasant environment. The prices are also quite reasonable. $20 for a chicken or pork entree with a side. Some fabulous meat and sausage platters for $22.
Someone else called this place a gem and it really is. Serves a mix of traditional Balkan dishes and standard North American fare. Open late! Pulled in at 10:45 and still was given great service. The lapinja with kaymak is amazing and should be tacked onto any order. The staff were very friendly despite the late hour. Recommended.
I really liked this place it was a Friday they had music 7 to 9, the food was fresh hot, and came quickly. The Greek salad was so good and a nice size the calamari was tasty and done very well . It was a nice experience. Everyone looked happy and enjoying their food . I'm looking forward to going again and trying many different items on the menu. We are so lucky to live in Canada to experience so many different foods . Loving food loving Canada ......ps Marie did great on her first night .
The portions are huge and it's impossible for one person to finish. The food was hot and very delicious. I really loved the fish and chips, the coating was really crunchy and the fish was super tender. Will definitely recommend to visit this place. The only thing that this place could improve will be there service. One of the waitress there was acting like she was forced to work there. She didn't care to look or get plates until asked. Overall experience was good and will recommend this place if you are in Hamilton.
There was hair in my food and we acknowledged the server.No appologise from anybody,and it was not subtracted from our bill.We left the place with all food left over in our plates,nobody even asked did we like the food or is it everything ok.AVOID IT,you will feel not wellcomed there.
Delicious and authentic Eastern European/Balkan food. Friendly service. Reasonable prices and large portions. We had the cevapi dinner with lepinja bread and it was great.
Very nice place! It has three levels. The staff is amazing and food the same. I would very much recommend this place. You can also rent it for a private party
We are not often in the area, but were today and my husband suggested we check it out for lunch. Upstairs looked busy so we opted for seats downstairs. Lovely lovely atmosphere. Our server, Milica was awesome. We had conversations about various topics a number of times that she came to the table. Travelling down east, the origins of the restaurant and the size of the portions huge and the availability of a party room on the lowest level The food was amazing. As mentioned, the portions are huge. We ordered escargot as an appetizer. We've ordered escargot appetizers many places, but I can guarantee you we never received this large of a portion anywhere. Between the two of us, we couldn't finish it. I took the picture when we'd been eating it for a bit already. It is mushroom caps, escargot and melted cheese. However, unlike most escargot orders, it wasn't one of two escargot per mushroom cap. It was more like 6 or 7 per mushroom cap. Absolutely delicious. He ordered the grilled calamari and absolutely enjoyed it. Again, the portion was huge and we took some home with us. I had the club sandwich with a house salad. There was a large piece of grilled chicken on the sandwich. I was surprised as that is not usually the way club sandwiches come. They usually come with cold sliced chicken/turkey. It was delicious! I wish I'd taken pictures of the salad that came with my sandwich and his calamari. Very very tasty and appetizing. I've read other reviews and I cannot just leave this review without commenting on those other reviews. Our server, as mentioned earlier was pleasant beyond pleasant actually and the service was excellent. I don't understand people saying they were treated differently because they are not of the same culture. We did not experience that at all. Between the food and the great service from Milica, we will definitely be back.
