Scottish Inns

No way 2 star more like 4 star. The most comfy bed I have slept in. Lovely setting no complaints whatsoever. Basic but brilliant.

Since the new owners have taken over the Scottish Inn in Potsdam, NY; the Patel family have done an excellent job in enhancing the facilities and maintening a clean, friendly and simple hotel. In most cases, you can park your car right by your entrance door. The hotel is located just outside of Clarkson University and the Village of Potsdam. In addition, they are within 1 mile of several restaurants, stores (including Walmart) and only 10 miles away from Canton. Having managed may hotles in the Unites States, the price value relationship is excellent! Why stay anywhere else and pay up to an addition $75 more per night for a room? At the Scottish Inn, most of there rooms have 2 queen size beds and they do have a pet policy. All rooms have a microwave, refrigerator, a work desk, free WiFi, iron and ironing board. Everything one need to meet basic lodging needs. This is a definite place to stay when arw in the Canton - Potsdam area.

Cheap Motel. Clean rooms, but small. One pop vending machine, ice has to be gotten at front desk. If you go to check in or need anything & door is locked to front desk, knock hard, I don't think the bell works. It worked for us while visiting college.

I arrived very early in the morning in March 2017, I woke the owner up to check in ( we check in at 4AM), he was very courteous. They had no problem with my cat staying there with me. I stayed for 2 weeks until my apartment was ready, if I didn't have an apartment waiting I would have stayed here for the 3 months I was working at the hospital. This is a great, clean motel! Plus this motel brought back memories of traveling across the country as a kid!! I will stay here every time I come to Potsdam!!

It's not bad for the price. Clean but a considerable lack of attention to detail. The shower was exceptionally tight. The two double beds made the room layout quite awkward.
