We visited Scotiabank Theatre for the first time when Avatar 2 was on air. Loved the place! Quite cozy and clean. And the quality of the movie was awesome :
Usually it's great... last time was not. Not enough people working and then no one seemed to know what they were doing! Also... ordered pretzel bites and a hot dog... no hot dogs available and it was the evening show when they are popular to order .. Then the cup of pretzel bites was not even close to full and they're bloody expensive and heavily salted... thankfully the movie was awesome. The service was not!
We subscribe to the Cineplex Cineclub membership so at the theaters at least once a month and this is where we see most of those movies. The theater for the most part is clean and the staff mostly high school/college kids do a great job in keeping things running smoothly and always friendly. I took one star off as the seats and ground sticky could use a bit more cleaning and food prices are getting kind of crazy. Staff checking in a bit more often for patrons "talking" during the movie would be nice but this is really on the general public and not the theater it rarely happens thankfully and someone in the crowd usually calls them out.
We went to see Titanic tonight. We pulled into the parking lot and parked in the accessible parking. I had to walk through the drive because the sidewalk was covered in ice. I went in and spoke with a staff member I think the name was Kelly to bring this to their attention and to ask them to salt or equivalent while the movie was on giving it 3hrs and 15 minutes to do its thing before we left. I can tell you that this was not completed. Here are the pics. This is dangerous and should have been dealt with. I will wait for someone from the theater to reach out and I will report the outcome.
Had a very good experience of watching Avatar movie here. IMAX screen is great and sound is amazing. Your eyes will never go out of screen Kids can play lots of video games here outside the Theater.
Convenient location, spacious venue with lots of screens and movies to choose from, including 3D and IMAX options. The only downside was the abundance of food on the floor - that may say more about the patrons than the theatre but it still was a bit gross.
Top notch 3D experience and movies! Don't forget to with your scene card to get more points you purchase food
State of the art cinema that gives you the choice of how you want to view your movie of choice. Also lots of options for food and drink and an arcade as well if you or the kids want to hang out in between blockbusters. Tip: DBox is great for action movies that have cars. Tip 2: When watching a ScreenX movie try to take seats further from the front. Think middle or further back. Thank me later.
Beggars can't be choosers. The IMAX is the only reason to go. After 20 years of going to those cinemas they still can't figure out the concessions line. Always a long wait. Halifax needs an Alamo Drafthouse so badly it's painful.
Covid protocol in place with someone at the doors checking your ID and vaccination status. Once in, you can buy your popcorn and snacks and then another check of the tickets before the individual theatre doors. Best to come early before the movie as it can get busy right at the door at times due to all the protocols that have to be initiated. Plenty of stalls for the washrooms so there is never a wait, especially for the ladies. There is also an arcade area with several games stations. Overall a good experience. The only downside is that the trash can be overflowing after a particularly busy movie screening time in the evenings.
