2014: 5 nn2024: 1 piece of scrap!nThis international school has become the worst public school that I have seen in South Shore of Montreal.nnSince the arrival of the new principal, they no longer offer open houses so parents and students can visit.nnLAZY or something to hide?nnLast week was the parents' meeting day and as soon as we entered, we were shocked and extremely disappointed!nnFirst, the principal was unable to speak in the microphone in front of hundred parents all stacked together like sardines in a small cafeteria without air conditioning. After 15 minutes, we don't even know what she just said.nnSecond, there was a total miscommunication between all parties. The philosophy of this school is completely misaligned: every one does things differently. Some teachers rely only on the agenda and paper; some use Mozaïk online portal that they expect kids to follow daily while they have never asked to buy a phone, tablet or laptop at home for homework. This is about 2500$ to put in your budget if you want your kids to succeed. While JDLM provides a chromebook for only 178$/year.nnThird, old school way of communication: everything is still announced over the Intercom. What?nI can't believe that after forty years this International school is still using Intercom to communicate with students!nnFourth, after school activities fall under the responsibility of one person, it's called the sport's technician. After multiple complaints, they sent an email to inform parents the process of registering for after school activities, but with the wrong date and an unclear webform. If your kids want to perform in sport, this is not for them, sorry!nnFifth, each teacher has their own way to meet parents. But, the majority of them are disorganized. They were not able to clearly explain how they teach and provide clear answers to parents' questions.nnAll we have seen was a pur mix of international teachers and personnel with international accents, smell and taste. Are they good at teaching your kids? Maybe, maybe not!nnBut one thing is for sure: your kids will graduate with a bowl of soup mixed with a little ketchup, salsa, pasta, kim chi, hotdog, salad, potatoes, tomatoes and .
I was rlly excited to go to Lucille bc of its good reputation and from what i've heard, it sounded like a great school. I started highschool this August and i already hate it. The students might be smart but are often not well behaved. In my row of lockers, there's always a group of guys fighting and i don't feel safe even tho they are shorter than me. I once got pushed and fell into my locker lol. I like only three of my teachers. My math teacher is very strict and yells a lot, to the point where i get headaches after math class. One of my other teachers has asked weird things to girls in my group and makes very unprofessional comments during class. Tbh i'm kinda scared of that teacher, but luckily he hasn't asked me anything yet. At the beginning of the year, someone in sec 3 told me that i'll probably cry often throughout the year bc of school. which is 100% true It's overall very stressful and i kinda regret choosing to come to this school.
Worst years of my life. Teachers are bad, racist and unprofessionnal. I don't remember a single usefull thing taught at this school. Advertising LGBTQ+ everywhere in the school, which is basically trying to brainwash students. Teachers claiming their opinion is the truth, disregarding our opinions. The staff is so annoying, always criticizing us when possible. For example, if your uniform alters a little from what is allowed, you are forced to take it off. Hats or anything on the head is forbidden, which is also really annoying. Overall a bad experience, hopefully the next year goes by fast so I can move onto a better school.
I graduated from this school when it was still in the Antoine Brossard building back in 2009. While i could not always appreciate it while i was a student there, i gotta say that as an adult, i realized how lucky i was to have studied there. I really appreciate all the effort teachers invested in us. They really worked hard to teach us to think. We got to do so many creative projects like the one where we had to manage a fictional country and we had to come up with a flag, constitution, tourist attractions, and develop the economy. Thats just one example but there are many more. Thank you to all the teachers!! Your work is hard and underappreaciated! Go Front Commun!
Writing the ups and downs for the sixth graders who are considering their options for secondary schooln1. Cafeteria food is decent but also really expensive, it only gets worst throughout the yearsn2. The teachers are overall nice, some of them aren’t qualified and others will randomly leave in the middle of the year for whatever reasonn3. Let’s be fair the uniform is kinda pretty and easily styledn4. The program offers school trips if ur rich enough to whip out 4000$ by the end of Decembern5. The infrastructure is really old and tbh the hallways are kinda crusty and it’s WAY too small for the amount of students it holdsn6. Theres a lot of diversity, one can probably spot 3 kids who are actually quebecois in every class, and culture day is rly fun for that reasonn7. Design Projects suck and I ain’t hearing anyone out on that onen8. The librarian is very chill and nice just as long as you don’t yell in the library on purposen9. If you think the student council has more influence on the administration of the school beyond colour days and small events you’re wholly wrong lmaon10. You will either become depressed or develop intense performance anxietyn11. Expect drama. LOTS of it.n12. May I add there’s a dog called Botine wandering the hallways during breaks and she’s the most adorable and amazing dog that has ever licked my face I LOVE HER SM OH MY LORDn13. Bathrooms just got renovated last year and they’re being kept fairly cleannIf you don’t come here for the program you could also come for the fact that it’s as far from away the ghetto as ur getting on the south shore, also the students are apparently far more collected than they are in other schools which makes me wonder how chaotic it is over there I legit have horror stories from my friends at AB send helpnHonestly it could be far worst, but also a lot better if we had more funding and more qualified teachers
