Savoy's South Indian Restaurant

We went Savoy's South Indian Kitchen at Calgary Location for lunch. Place order for Masala Dosa and Onion Masala Dosa. Good place for dosa,authentic south indian taste,dosas and Sambhar is really nice. Masala dosa is taste good same crunchy and fresh. I am so happy untill my last bite. The lady who took our order was friendly and informative, specially staff who provide service Harman and Balwinder Kaursorry if spelling is wrong they are friendly and so professional in take care customers. Thank you all staff members who provide service,ambiance felt like India, wall pictures, flower decorations very nice I am highly recommed this place must visit if you are looking for South Indian meal. Thank you Savoy's South Indian Kitchen for excellent service.

First time ordering takeout from here. Food was underwhelming. Hardly any meat in the biryani and chciken in the kothu, just bread, bit on the soggy side. Hope they improve the quality.Food: 3/5

One of the best dosa places in Calgary, that’s for sure. After many years of ownership changing at this location, I’m really glad this one has stuck around. The paper dosa is literally a meter long! The mysore masala dosas are also quite tasty and the staff is friendly, but they’re a bit hard to flag down.

Great service and great food. I have been to many south indian restaurant but this was fhe best, food was served hot and on time, though we had a big group. i would recommend to everyone to order kutuprantha, matka biryani that is literally cooked in matka and yes do taste their filter coffee. When it comes to service they were fast, helpful and welcoming, they followed the protocol of covid and then helped us seated. We never have to look for anyone, whenever we need anything they were around always. Thank you Team Savoi for providing such a great experience.

Quality of food especially chicken biriyani served in this place is below standard, but overall food isn't bad and just felt the height of table wasn't good to enjoy the meal. Missed the standards they have in Edmonton Savoys.

Food was amazing. The place is very cozy. The servers were very friendly. Did not take too long to receive our food. Portions were more than enough. They fill up the cutnies, sambar and rita free of cost. Overall very nice experience.

Great food and quick service. Always a go to for south indian authentic food. Finding a Parking can be a problem but there is on road parking available close by.

**Edit - March 19, 2022 The service has now improved a lot, I think the staff have been trained to provide better service. The taste of their food is very consistent, it always tatses the same! Love their chutneys amd sambhar. **Edit - September 4, 2021 I used to love the edmonton branch and I was really excited about moving to Calgary just to know that Savoy was here. Due to covid we've only been ordering food items online and the food has been great. But after physically dining in the restaurant my whole perspective has changed. There are 2 lady staff who have no manners and are very rude. They behave as if they're doing us a favor by serving us, shocked to receive this level of service in Canada! Another episode - a couple with a small baby walked in and due to covid requested for a table to the corner of the restaurant away from the crowd, but the lady staff refused to let them occupy that table and wanted them to sit next to the other tables, why would you do that considering they also had a baby. And the customers walked out and the staff didn't even care. This is an example of success getting to their head and they don't care about the service being provided. As much as I love their food, I will not visit again as they have no value for customers. I'm a south Indian and just moved to Calgary from Toronto. And this place amazes me.. Their idlis, medu vada and sambhar are better than what you get in India. All their dishes are so good and I love the varienty on their menu. Must try - Tawa grilled fish, beef ullarthu, appam

Authentic taste. Authentic Ambience. Felt like I was in South India somewhere. Request to the owner to help keep the bathrooms clean. I'm sure it was the previous users of the bathroom but sets a bad experience for everyone after that. :-

Food was amazing!!! Mango fish curry was so good that felt uts better than what we get in kerala! Must go place if you want kerala food!!!
