We are a BC founded grocery store chain under the Overwaitea Food Group. We have been proudly serving BC communities since 1915! Our mission is to provide excellent customer service with a smile. We promote local products and participate in local activities and charitable events through out the year. Save On Foods is a large supporter of minor sports and the BC Children's Hospital.

We have been staying in the Gulf Islands for the past several weeks and had an opportunity to shop at two different Save on Foods in the region. We had a very poor experience in Campbell River and I recently wrote a review about that. Unfortunately, all I got back was the generic company response. I did contact customer service, like they said to, and I still haven’t heard anything back from them two weeks later. We have also shopped in Powell River at Save on Foods, and had the same frustrating experience with lack of common products available like lean ground beef, or raisin bran. It bugs me when they say it was an isolated incident when it wasn’t for me at all. Two different stores, two bad experiences with a lack of product on the shelf and difficulty finding any staff available to help you with it. The fact that customer service really didn’t seem to care, shows where the problems originate from. What hope do the local stores have when head office isn’t supporting them. And please don’t send me a generic response to this, telling me to contact customer service again. That didn’t solve anything, it just made you look better in print. Why don’t you focus your time on fixing the problem.

Great deals, especially if you have a store card to accumulate points and use wisely for redeeming! Be careful what you use your points on though.... When something is on special the point to sale ratio is not worth it. I've found that their peppers Green especially seem to be not the freshest for the last few month
