Great and clean station. nHave a safe trip everyone!
Great view any time of day, cool art work. Not usually busy.
I love staying here for 5 minutes or so waiting for the train in the opposite direction because I haven't paid attention to where the train was going.
Sapperton: A Historic and Vibrant NeighbourhoodnnSapperton is a neighbourhood of the City of New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, located in the northeastern end of the city and up to its boundaries with Coquitlam and Burnaby. It is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in New Westminster, with a rich history and a lively community.nnHistorynnSapperton was the place where New Westminster began, due to the presence of the Royal Engineers, Columbia Detachment, who were often referred to as “Sappers”. They arrived in 1858 to survey and protect the new colony of British Columbia. They built their barracks and other buildings in the area, which became known as Sapper’s town or Sapperton12.nnSapperton was also the site of the first penitentiary in Western Canada, which opened in 1878 and operated until 1980. The penitentiary housed some notorious criminals, such as train robber Bill Miner and serial killer Clifford Olson. The site is now occupied by a park and a residential development2.nnSapperton was incorporated into New Westminster in 1889 and became a residential and commercial hub for the city. It was connected to other parts of the region by railroads, streetcars and bridges. It is also close to the Royal Columbian Hospital and several shops and restaurants.nnAnother Beer Co: A funky craft brewery that opened in 2019.
