Like how they have massively upgraded this station. More lighting, newer bus shelters, and these battery-electric bus chargers I have yet to see in action.nnCurrently they are fixing the escalator for the waterfront-bound trains so it’s a bit of a pain to take the stairs up or down this area as it’s narrow.nnYes there are elevators but they’re slow and kinda gross so I just allow extra walking time when I am at this station.
The 22nd Street SkyTrain Station, located in New Westminster, British Columbia, is a functional and essential part of the Metro Vancouver transit system. Serving as a key hub on the Expo Line, the station offers convenient access for commuters traveling between downtown Vancouver and the surrounding suburbs.nnThe station itself is relatively straightforward in design, prioritizing functionality and efficiency. It features two side platforms and is well-integrated into the surrounding area, with bus connections that facilitate easy transfers to local routes. Accessibility is well-considered, with elevators and ramps for those with mobility challenges.nnCleanliness and safety are generally well-maintained, though the station can become crowded during peak hours. The surrounding neighborhood is a mix of residential and commercial areas, providing a variety of amenities such as shops and eateries within walking distance.nnOne downside is the station's aging infrastructure, which can feel outdated compared to newer SkyTrain stations. However, ongoing maintenance and improvements help mitigate these concerns.nnOverall, 22nd Street SkyTrain Station is a reliable and practical transit point that effectively serves the needs of its commuters, though it could benefit from modernization to enhance the overall user experience.
Many buses start from here to the different places of the city, Lougheed Route 101, Marpole Route 100, Richmond Routes 410 and 418, Braid Routes 128 and 155, Scottsdale Route 340, Carvolth Exchange Route 388, and Annasis Island Route 104.
This is one of the most disgusting skytrain stations on the entire network.nThere is bird AND human droppings on the ground daily in the area and a lot of homeless people are around the area as well.nHowever I always see security guards as well as transit staff in the area so it does feel safe here.nThis station is also very close to a variety of stores restaurants and a weed dispensery.nWatch where you step and make sure to tell off the losers who encourage the pigeons to come here by feeding them.
It's fine. Just wish there was public washrooms there sometimes. If the buses weren't 5-7 minutes late half the time i would give this another half star rating.
