We were there today and since we’re off season we walked in easily. We had freshly brewed iced tea which comes with simple syrup to sweeten it. Fantastic. The lobster roll with apple beet soup was worth the drive! My hubby had the tomato Parmesan soup and loved that. Service was attentive and very friendly. Long waits during busy eating hours but for a good reason! The lobster roll was fantastic, burger was great but messy, veggie sandwich was tasty and so was the chowder. The real star were the Caesar’s!!!! If you love a salty one I highly recommend! I couldn’t put it down.
Was in for the first time today, and it was pretty quiet, I would note that it’s a pretty small venue so not tons of space. I heard a lot great things about Salt Shaker but was a bit disappointed! Our waitress was unenthusiastic and lacked general attentiveness. The food took an average amount of time to come out, but the portions were pretty small! The food was okay, but I have definitely had better in Lunenburg. The main downfall of the visit was a hair in the food. None of the kitchen staff had hairnets/ and or beard nets so keep that in mind. Perhaps a better spot to grab lunch during the on season?
A delightful little near-oceanside restaurant. Crispy za's, loaded chowders, and a great atmosphere make this a must visit. Incredibly friendly and attentive wait staff round out an all round excellent experience. Oh, and get the chocolate mousse, you won't regret it!Food: 5/5
The pizza here is really delicious. The dough was chewy and the cheese was delicious. But the lobster sandwich was full of vegetables, saying there was less lobster. If you go here, try pizza.
I am not a fan of fish cuisine, but I really liked it. great view, delicious fresh food. I recommend the fish cakes, they are amazing!
bed and linens were so comfy and cozy. small bathroom but totally fine for work travel. Lovely view of the harbour and street. parking was easy during off season. dont accept AMEX.Rooms: 5/5
Great food, lovely atmosphere on a wet wintery day. Enjoyed the homemade iced tea & a few different delicacies. Price is very fair compared to restaurants nearer to the city.Recommended dishesMushroom Pizza
The short: Highly recommended , Beautiful local fare decent prices. if you can ...Go!! to you will not regret it. The long : We drop by after being really disappointed by a restaurant in Mahone Bay. Just on a whim not really knowing what to expect. it's a quint little restaurant without any real pretend, Wich is nice to see in that see of trying to hard place... The service was friendly and efficient to make us welcome and comfortable, the evening menu offers local fav along with the all day menu Wich is more of pub fare choices...lots to choose from .. The real surprise come out as the food arrived...and wow...what a nice refreshing and tasty fare they offer...we had the crab dip to start wich was just on the spot...not too hot, not over powering well seasoned...many try many fail in that department not the Salt and Shaker...Bravo, Came the main course which was the linguini with scallops. and local Houlton pork shop in Berwick bacon ...they were beautiful together ...the dish was well balanced, the spinach and bacon danced with grace along the magnificent scallops..If you try only one thing on the menu I would recommend that dish. The ambiance was convivial but never overwhelming...really pleasant. Then came the desert list...do save some room for it..we tried the chocolate mousse and the creme caramel, all were up to par with the previous fare...rich unctuous and decadent....yum The decor is simple and boasts amusing and cheeky paintings of an artist named Miller ...I wish I knew how he/she was...if someone know please msg me. even the bathroom has this fun floor decor. Overall if you need a really nice dinner spot without fuss in Lunenburg the Salt and Shaker Deli & Inn is it... I haven't try the Inn part but seeing the kitchen prowess I can just hope it's just as great as the food was... thank you for reading this far...really a great spot.
My wife and I enjoyed scallop linguini, fish cakes, and calamari. All dishes were wonderful and served by Fanny with charm and a smile.Food: 5/5
