As an woman of African decent, I expect to be profiled by those who are not. I am a pro card holder who went into this location and could literally feel the heat of the two staff who are also women of African decent as they continued to interrupt my phone conversation as well as repeatedly pacing back and forth into the aisle I was in. If a customer says they are okay, stop asking them the same question over and over again. Second, use your mirrors and camera in the store and stop trailing customers who are there to purchase products. After spending $73 in this location, I guarantee that I will never return. I was planning to purchase more items but I realized that the profiling was not ending.
I frequently come into Sally Beauty for various items, and it's always such a pleasant experience. The ladies that work here are very friendly, and always more than willing to give product advice/help whenever it's needed. Not once have I ever had a less than great experience here. The staff are what keep me coming back again & again! :
Save yourself the headache and avoid this location. I was wrongfully advised here on colour shades not once, but twice. When I went to do a return because the associates at the Morningside location actually gave me correct colour info, JENNI with an I was the absolute worst rep. She advised me wrong the first time too . I separated my receipts and was attempting to tell her how to refund to which she interrupted me and said she'd figure it out. Not only did she NOT figure it out, she exchanged my products instead of refunding my money and I was left with a store credit. She said she got anxiety about my return and proceeded to clear the line behind me and have me wait. She also had me wait as she consulted someone behind me. Maybe don't assume the customer doesn't know what they're talking about, and listen to which produces go on which receipts and how to refund sk we can actually get our money back. Kicker is she couldn't even give me a credit because they were out of gift cards. Absolutely unacceptable and I hope Sally's head office reads this locations google reviews. Go to Morningside for actual service with bright reps who don't lead you astray.
Lots of options, my go to place. Went today, Kyla helped me out. She was really nice, and helped me find and pick a toner. We need more people like her in customer service, people who are as helpful and kind. Thank you Kyla!
I was a first time customer in this store and the girl in the store seemed too busy and annoyed to answer a couple of questions. There was no one else in the store and she kept going to the back office while I was standing by the cash register for over 6 mins. I know it doesn't seem too long but for a small empty store you wonder what was so important in the back office..I understand we all have our own lives separate from work but when you get paid to have a good attitude towards customers and you're doing anything but, then you should look elsewhere for a pay cheque
The store is well stocked, some products are on the higher price point, I usually wait for the special offers
The stout saleswoman with the long black hair and fake lashes was so incredibly rude and sarcastic when I asked her a simple question. Instead of being polite, her response was “it literally says it on the bottle” when it did not. Will definitely not be returning.
The following is an email I had to send to Sally Beauty about the Ajax location. I have been going there for years but as soon as covid began and we had to wear masks, I've been treated like a thief on each visit. I am posting this because the company has done nothing. I don't want her to lose her job but, this behaviour should not be tolerated. The email is as follows: "Good evening, I am a member with Sally Beauty services. I have been for 3 years now. Ever since covid has begun, and I have had to wear a mask, I have been experiencing issues with an associate at your Ajax, Canada location. Your employees usually follow me however, this particular associate, I believe her name is Jenny and that she's the assistant manager, follows me around the store, will stand directly beside me, staring at me without actually doing any of her work, and is now being blatantly rude. As a black woman, I tend to ignore store associates when they follow me because most stores have a delusional bias about black customers anyway. However, when I ask for help from someone who was clearly following me, I don't expect her to then ignore me and stare me down rather than providing said help. I had planned to purchase multiple items as I am a Nail Technician and small business owner myself however, after her attitude, I purchased one item and will not be returning. A friend of mine, who is white, came in with me one day a few months ago, and saw the difference in how I was treated versus how she was treated and she has not been back since. She will never go back. I'm not sure what the issue is, as Jenny and I have NEVER had a problem prior to me having to wear a mask. I'm not sure if she can't recognize me but, her attitude, lack of help, and them moving all the black people products directly beside their checkout counter, where they stand and stare at the black customers as they shop, is disgusting and I will never return. I do hope you take this email seriously and work on whatever concern it is that Jenny may have but, on my end, I will be contacting their manager next week. The behaviour of the store associates is highly unacceptable and again, you have lost a loyal customer who, prior to creating a membership as well as since having it, has spent thousands in your store. You will never receive another cent from me, my family, or close friends that I have shared my experience with. Thanks..."
I have been to this store several times with average assistance. I attended the store today and asked an employee for assistance. Her response was abrupt and rude saying "whatever is on the shelf" and continued speaking to the manager about their personal life. Ignoring me completely. Needless to say in today's environment with businesses going under employees need to realize customers are and will always be important. I will not be returning and continue to shop online. NOT at Sally's
Looks a lot bigger on the outside. Inside is small. Staff were courteous and helpful in helping me find exactly what I was looking for.
