I went to Salle Climatisée to celebrate my best friend’s birthday. We were sat at the bar which offered a great experience insofar as interaction with chefs was concerned very charismatic and class-act team overall, as well as being able to see the “making of” their dishes. Upon indulging in 5 courses, we were pleased with how Salle Climatisée creates simple, yet well thought out dishes which showcases one ingredient at a time, with excellence. My personal favorite during winter was the sweet potato with diced pears and blue cheese, as well as the famous leeks. Salle Climatisée’s beverage menu was also well curated, as it offers an excellent selection of natural wines and solid scotches, which were thoughtfully paired with our desert. On a final note, I would also recommend their merchandise, notably their utility tote bags great quality heavy cotton, and made in Montreal!. A+ minimalist branding that makes for a great souvenir after a delicate and delicious supper.
I love everything about this place. Great vibe, attentive service, incredible food, and amazing wine. I took all the servers recommendations every dish blew my mind.
Overall a 8.5/10 for me. A great restaurant to try in montreal, with an intimate vibe, great food, but not revolutionary. The wine to the glass selection was extremely limited, but the overall selection to the bottle was well diverse and we loved every single wine. Our favourite dishes were the chicken dish, the boudin, and the sticky pudding. Overall a bit pricey for what you get in my opinion, but still worth the detour. We took the complete menu to share amongst 4 people, which included 1 an appetizer of matane shrimps, which was tasty and fresh , but lacked texture and balance in my opinion; 2 the fennel plate with the sauces on it was well mastered and innovative. Really nice in taste, but a certain “crunchiness” would have added texture to the plate ; 3 the beef tartare with the grapes and greens was perfectly mastered, a must try! 4 the potato dish was a bit of a miss for me. It lacked both flavour and texture, and wasn’t on par with the quality of the other plates in my opinion. 5 the chèvre with basil and tomato was a quite simple dish, but the freshness of all ingredients really made the flavours pop, but again, some textures would’ve been fun, such as with some pecans. Personal taste for this one though. 6 the boudin was simply great. Flavouring, preparation and the sear on the boudin were perfect. 7 the fish dish was interesting, tasty, but lacked complexity. 8 the chicken dish really was the highlight of the night in my opinion, with a perfectly cooked chicken, with a delicious crunchiness of the skin, and an extremely tender meat. The veggies in the middle mixed perfectly with the rest of the dish. Way better than the similar dish plate I ate at liverpool house. 9 The deserts were a really nice finish, albeit a big heavy in cream and sugar but hey! It’s a desert. The sticky pudding really was a homerun.
Small intimate place. Made a reservation for 6pm. Table needed to be free by 9. Because we were 4, ordered almost everything on the menu. Good service and selection of wine. The food was good but certain dishes lacked a bit of flavour to my taste.
This restaurant was recommended to me through a grapevine of astute flavour connoisseurs and it lived up to the hype in every way. This is an archetype of an establishment that carefully and diligently curates every ingredient to ensure the highest quality and freshness. Those ingredients are then masterfully assembled into complex but easy to eat creations. Nothing is overlooked. A true culinary experience. This is a place where you order the entire menu and take the journey to flavour town. It hit areas of my taste buds I had no idea existed. Service was excellent but that’s a given for a place of this caliber. Much like ingredients, the wine list is also carefully curated as they boast some very special naturals, skin contacts and fun and funky pet nats. A must try for any occasion.
Incredible in every way. The food, service, staff, atmosphere. Hands down one of the best dining experiences I've come across with my time in Montréal, highly recommend making the effort to come and dine here if you haven't already!
Love. Love. Love. I came out rejuvenated. THIS is Montreal!!! Cuisine is simple to understand but complex. I loved the food and the service. Small and intimate. Very warm. Will DEFINITELY go again.
Best dinner experience I’ve had! Incredible wine, staff, service and the food is perfection. Super intimate, just love love love.
The food is simply incredible. every.single.dish is PERFECT. Simple, yet surprising and smart combinations of flavors, with absolutely flawless cooking yes, even river fish is perfect there. Wine selection and recommendations are amazing. I thought this place was overpriced, I was wrong. Will absolutely come back for every menu rotation
this is a terrific place for all the right reasons: the welcome is warm and the warmth and the vibe continues through the whole experience. then there's the food: you won't find these combinations anywhere else. the chef is adventurous and enjoys mixing it up. tonight we had fresh sockeye salmon with basil and sour cherries; lightly steamed kohlrabi with trout roe; and Matane shrimp in parsley oil with a dill mayonnaise. but the real stars of the show were the laquered duck with sweet cherries and fresh broad beans and the stunning tahini galette with cooked and fresh Saskatoon berries in custard. oh YUM! we sat outside and enjoyed the people parade, the music and a sparkling sky. Highly recommended!
