Felt like taking it back to Africa, East Africa that is with this nice Somalian restaurant . Waitresses were very friendly and recommended the Goat meal comes with plantain soup and juice. I also felt like trying the Somali Milk cake for dessert and thank God I did. The cake was delicious and not too sweet either. Large food portions, had to take a bit of my dinner to go which was good. I would love to come back here.
Sahaan Restaurant is one place you have to try out! It's dishes are made with bites that make you keep wanting more. This place serves the most tender goat meat / ribs I have encountered.....one bit of advice is if you plan on going just make sure to call in advance to ask the chef to keep a few plates of goat meat or ribs for you. Why? Cause that's the hottest item dish that gets sold out super fast! You will thank me later for that advice. They also have a delicious mango shake! The restaurant itself is very great with staff and the chef themselves being very kind and generous!
We had booked this place for a small gathering for about 30 people and really the way Mr. Mahmood treated us with exceptional customer service skill. Hats off to all the other staff who served us and made our dining experience worth every penny. Wow! The lamb was so tender. T-bone stake, chicken and beef stew was awesome. The rice was very delicious and the chicken was well marinated and was great!! Loved the flavors. I will for sure come back. Highly recommend!! Kudos to Sahan restaurant Team
Sahan offers very good quality Somali traditional food here. The portions are very good and the quality is always the same. I came here with friends and got a sports dish combining 2-3 dishes into 1 plate so we can all share from one another. The tea is phenomenal. They also have a private room in the back that is family and ladies friendly. Kid-friendliness: They have private seating for larger groups and family. Parking: There is good amount of parking spots available. Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible for those in a wheelchair. Dietary restrictions: The restaurant serves 100% Halal
Picked this place on a whim. It's not the kind of place where you expect any sort of service. First timers - if you're planning to sit down, pick a seat and grab your own menus instead of waiting to be served. When you know what you want to order, head to the counter and let them know where you've sat and order with them. If you want to pay the bill, I suggest going up to them as well. I had the T-Bone Dinner, side of Chapati and spicy onion side. The dinner comes with soup and mango juice. The cut of meat was sooo flavorful, well-balanced and tender. It had a tanginess and undertones of jerk seasoning. The soup was really good too. Some sort of lentil bean soup but very flavorful and perfect for a cold day. Really delicious. The rice was a smidge over but flavorful. I'd skip the chapati. The owners were nice, but don't expect any decent service when you come here. It's also a bit slow but it is what it is. Overall, I'd opt for take out next time. Love to try and chicken next.
We ordered chicken legs, t-bone steak and goats ribs-and we loved all the items. High in quantity and came with soup, juice and tea. Though we went late for dinner, thus tea wasn’t available, but overall food was good, specially t-bone steak and staff’s were also good.
This is a hidden gem with a simple, yet spacious ambience, catering generous and delicious food. It's known as a Somali grill and cafe. First time trying Somalian food and it's beyond expectations. The fuss free limited menu makes deciding & choosing what you want to eat so much easier! With their generous portion sizes shareable... kinda comfort food, I'd say it will soon become your favorite spots to order from or eat at. Service is efficient. Every meal comes with and begins with a comforting lentil soup & mango juice that's kinda watered down, but I realize the juice probably being that way is why I did not feel over stuffed, sipping while I ate. I can say this place is an almost meat lover's paradise read huge portions whether it's the goat ribs or the chicken suqaar or the beef T bone.. They're all more than sufficient and go well with the base you choose - You can choose either their Chappati flakey & buttery or pasta spaghetti or rice. And if you want it spicy, ask for 'hilac' they have their own version of a sauce that's a blend of green chillies & vinegar AND whatever you do, pack your leftovers for takeaway or not ... BUT please do not leave this place without trying their signature STAR- the simple milk cake dessert pure heaven & maybe one among the foods of the Gods!... just melts in your mouth & will leave you wondering where did it all go. I'll bet you order one more to go ; Without a doubt, I'm definitely coming back again here for the re-experience! Pictured here is food for three, presented as a family plate. You can ask for individual plating too Parking: Sufficient spots
Great meal, we ordered 5 meals and requested them on 2 large plates so we could eat together. We got chicken steam, steak, beef stew, chicken stew and goat ribs. Everything was good and tasty. However the steak was a little chewy. The chicken steak was the best in my opinion. It was also served with soup, salad, sautéed onions and mango juice we got 5 of each the hot sauce was hot but so good. We also ordered 2 chapati, they are thin and delish! We were 5 adults and 3 kids and we took enough home for 2-3 more people. The staff were kind and very friendly. We will definitely be coming back.
Best Lamb meat with combination of rice and salads. The plate looks gorgeous and tastes amazing. This is not my first time here but every time it’s one of the best dine in here in Toronto. Well done team SAHAN.
Dropped in for lunch on a Saturday, the place is straight forward for eating delicious food at great value. Staff were polite and provided us menus promptly, not many items which is usually a good thing. Ordered the t-bone steak which was excellent both in quality and value. Would go back again
