I had been going to dr Elias since I was a kid, my entire family- grandparents and all go to her. But she does not like fat people, I completely understand doctors point of view when it comes to being over weight and for our “health”. However health concerns I had turned around to how much I weighted. Even as a preteen I didn’t want to go to the doctors while sick, bc I knew she would make me feel bad. I recall a time she was doing a physical and while checking my lower stomach she lowered my pants with no warning or asking if my mom should leave the room- I was around 11/12 so I knew what privacy was. Because of this I constantly avoided going. As well, she encouraged my under eating when I was like 16/17. I was diagnosed with pcos and her only recommendation was putting me on metformin encourages weight loss not once did she mention birth control to me as an option to help regulate my cycle. As she assumed losing weight would be the only thing that would help my period, that didn’t work lol. She fuelled my eating disorder, as returning to her after being on the medication for a while and I had very little weight change. We talked about my diet on a regular day. I told her that I was consuming around 1000 calories not enough a day, and what she told me…. was to also cut out bananas from my diet bc of their sugar content. I will never forget that day. Switched doctors as soon as I was taken by another. Have had a much more pleasant experience since then!
Horrible, horrible doctor! NEVER EVER can accommodate to see you, even when you urgently need medical attention! For years now any time I tried to get in, could not make appointment she's never available or fully booked requiring me to go to walk in clinic. No passion about her work, never a smile does not seem to be showing any empathy. Walk in clinic doctors have looked after me more times over the years than my own "so called" family doctor. Her receptionists which she's been changing over and over are rude, inconsiderate. If you thinking getting under her care, think again! She wont be the doctor who will look after you or your family needs in keeping you healthy! In search for new family doctor... Fed up with her practice style that she can NEVER EVER EVER accommodate appointments!!!!!!
If you’re looking for a new doctor look elsewhere! I recently moved into the area, found this doctor on find a doctor. The first visit was a one hour and a half wait to see the doctor! The actual appointment was less than 10 minutes but I was waiting for a booked appointment behind at least 7 people. When I called to schedule my next appointment I asked for a time where I would not have to wait so long and was told by the receptionist that it was based on how many patients the doctor has to see as she takes “time” with each patient. On top of that all the morning appointments were booked up for the whole week in advance. I mean either this doctor is way in over her head in terms of the patient load she’s taking on or she is just really really slow. Either way it is not excusable in any way to have a booked appointment waiting one hour and a half to be seen!
Every doctor I have ever been to has long wait times. Dr Elias doesn't even have that long a wait. The other reviews seem to be unfair and unrealistic in my opinion. The office hours are wonderful for those of us who can't book time off to work to see the doctor and the waiting room is nice and comfortable.
Yesterday I had an appointment for 5 pm. I understand there could be a wait but I was told by the rude receptionist that it would be 45 minutes to an hour. I asked what should I do with my son for this hour and she told me take him to the library or Burger King. I was also told there is always a wait at the drs office,, which I have talked to friends and that’s not true.I was there to get my son vaccinated for his 18 mnth shot. Which after waiting that hour, the dr didn’t have. I really like dr Elias. I feel she is a great dr and respects and listens to her patients. I feel if I have an appointment should be honoured to a certain degree. I feel she needs to run her office better and the receptionist should show some compassion.
Wait times are between an hour and 2 hours. The doctor doesn't communicate with staff for wait times. The doctor doesn't really do much either other than give referrals. I always have to take an entire day of work when I have an appointment with her. Extremely disappointed.
I've been several times and always waited longer than an hour. Twice I've gone about health issues and after waiting over an hour had her tell me she doesn't know what's wrong. The receptionist is bad too. Would rather never go to a doctor again then go back there.
Wait times have improved lately. Very nice doctor. Good prevention monitoring. Receptionist has always been pleasant.
Only once did I have to wait for a long amount of time, last 3 or 4 visits when pretty quick, she is nice and knows what she is doing, I am bringing my wife and son to her to use as well.
If I had the option of giving less then 1 star I would have, most unprofessional Doctor and receptionist, wait time is ridiculous minimum of an hour, the phone line is always busy and God forbid if you did get through the phone, you will be put on hold for another 15 mins. Poor management
