Story

Ruthven Park National Historic Site is the former home of 5 generations of the Thompson family. Experience the quiet, serene landscape surrounding a majectic 1840s Classical Greek Revival mansion on the banks of the Grand River. Owned and operated by the Lower Grand River Land Trust Inc., a non-government, non-profit, charitable organization.

A great visit for any history buff - the tour of the mansion was informative and enjoyable. The grounds are well kept and enjoyable to tour on their own, but bring bug spray if you plan to wander far from the buildings. Well with the very reasonable $10 cost!

Such a beautiful setting with an impressive historic stone home and many walking paths. If you are lucky you will be there on a day when they are tagging birds. This is an interesting and inspiring experience. Definitely worth a visit to Ruthven Park.
