Must have been an off-night since all the other reviews were so good. First off the service was outstanding! But, she had to bring out orders later because the kitchen kept burning things. She said she made them take it back because it looked bad. This was evident in our meals - my pot roast was delicious, but crunchy. The wings were very dark and small, but they did give us 16 instead of 12; and the chicken strips were old and greasy- like the oil needed to be changed. The kids pizzas were good and the burger was fine. I think overall it must have just been an off-night food-wise.
My wife and I went on a whim tonight a Saturday night during tourist season and were expecting a 30 minute wait. When we walked in the hostess had just left to seat another party, but a waitress greeted us immediately and explained the hostess would be right with us. We were seated quickly and with a smile. Waitress greeted us almost immediately when we were seated, despite the restaurant being very busy. Drinks came out quick and were delicious. Menu had a wide range of choices, all of which sounded amazing, and our waitress gave us enough time to decide, but didn't rush us or leave us waiting. Our food came out quicker than expected again, it was Saturday night and it was a full house and was warm, well presented/prepared, and was worth every penny. Taste can be subjective, but when there are diners in this town serving lukewarm, over salted food, this brewery stands out as a positive example. I have zero complaints and admittedly am writing an extra long review because I was so impressed by the service not a single staffer I saw looked stressed or frazzled, and I was sitting by the kitchen so I saw many staff coming and going the food, and the clear commitment to excellence. This is my new favorite restaurant in town.
We ordered the Bavarian Pretzel and smoked chicken wings for an appetizer and they were delicious! The service was great and the food fantastic. I ordered the perch dinner which came with fries but I upgraded to tater tots. Everything was cooked perfectly! My brother loved the flatbread pizza he ordered and my sister-in-law ordered tacos which she loved. I would definitely like to eat at the Rusted Spoke Brewing Company again!
Such a great Brewery! The food is great and the steak bites were done exactly as we ordered. Just scare them with the fire. Great selection of Michigan beers and their own. Get the Michigangster! Special thanks to Brittany, she is super awesome and made sure our pints were full! The whole staff is attentive and interactive. Tell them Bomber sent you and if they say “who”. Just smile and order a Michigangster.
Great food & service. Our family liked the Cauliflower crust mushroom-chicken- cheese pizza, Reuben sandwich, berry cider, salad with steak & Black Mumba beer. Tuna tacos were good too!
Fantastic food! First and foremost the food here is great! I would say it is worth the wait but when we went there was no wait with super fast service. The BBQ brisket tacos are fantastic and I don't like coleslaw really and it is so perfect together! They have a nice offer of beer and cider on top of a full bar.
Absolutely fantastic stop in Mackinaw City if you're looking for amazing food, great beer and wonderful service! Emily our server was very friendly and quick. Awesome tap list with a ton of options. Some of the best food we had on vacation - the whitefish dip was amazing, the Michigan salad goat cheese, walnuts, cranberries was so fresh, perfect pizza, and the bbq was delicious. Atmosphere is great, establishment very unique and cool vibe. Matt the manager/brewer took the time to chat with us and made us feel right at home! Needless to say we will be back!
Rusted Spoke is a great little brewpub and restaurant. The have plenty of interesting pints on tap including their own, and with taps rotating they always have something new to try. Thr Deep Blue Sea is great, shrimp, crab, garlic, all mixed together in pizza form The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich was excellent as well, I just thought it could be hotter, but the pickles were on point. Fun place, it's worth the stop.
Arrived on Sunday 12:15PM. Glad to find out that there are plenty of tables availiabe. Order a flight of beer 4 pour for $10, the Spoke's Award Winning Chili $9, BBQ Nachos $14, Crispy Perch Po' Boy $16.4, Reuben Sandwitch with Onion rings $16 + $4. We like the Perch Po' Boy, Oinion rings. Reuben Sandwitch is weak. Chili is OK but not spicy; kids would like them. BBQ Nachos is very boring and not worth ordering it. Beers are OK. Our favariate is not made here.
Continuing on with our tour of Michigan, our next stop was in Mackinaw City where we stayed the night and the next day toured Mackinac Island. While in the area we had dinner at Rusted Spoke Brewing. The parking lot was packed, but this is a pretty big place. We were told it would be a short wait for a table, and by the time we could order a couple of beers at the bar, our table was ready. In addition to serving their own beers, they also serve a variety of other beers with a focus on the Michigan area. I enjoyed the Arbor Buzzsaw from Ann Arbor. For dinner, I went with the pulled pork sandwich which is topped with BBQ sauce and crispy onions. Overall the serving size was small, especially for the $13.50 price tag. I would have appreciated an overflowing amount of pork. The smoky flavor was good though. And their onion rings were great! My wife had the chicken pot pie, which was like nothing I have ever seen before. It wasn't actually a pie at all. The traditional filling occupied the bottom of a bowl and it was topped with a few biscuits. The flavors were actually really good, but it was not at all what was expected. This was not a highlight of our trip but wasn't necessarily bad either. It's suitable for a fairly quick meal with your family.
