If I could give this hospital zero stars I would. I went to the ER a couple weeks ago at 1:00 am for pain in my right side. The wait was going to be 4 hours. I said ok because I was in pain and I understand how emergency rooms work and there is a wait. I never got registered but they did pull me back to draw blood. I went back to waiting room and waited 2.5 hours and they said the wait was now over 6 hours. I couldn’t wait that long so I let them know I needed to go somewhere else which I had no issue doing. We left. I went to Edwards and got in right away and had to have emergency surgery for my appendix. Two weeks later I get a bill for $1630.00 which I am guessing is for my labs? That is absolutely outrageous since I was never seen or even registered. They didn’t bill my insurance because again they never registered me in the 2.5 hours of sitting there in a lot of pain. The only good thing is the billing department was super nice and is submitting it to my insurance but that charge is ridiculous for not even being seen.
Have been going to this hospital for many many years. Just came back again with a serious illness. The nurses were thorough, they got me back as quickly as they could. In ER department the nurses and doctors were working on me very quickly and I was getting very good treatment. That night the ER was extremely busy and they were doing there best. I felt safe, and received very good care. I would always recommend Copley
Thursday night of last week, I was dealt with a medical emergency. I went to Rush Copley since it was an immediate need for care. Yes there was a wait, but what hospital emergency room isn't lately? I waited my time and once I got to triage, it was apparent that my issue was more severe than I thought. I was admitted to the hospital shortly after arriving and cannot tell you how amazing the staff was. From the greeter, triage nurses and techs, to the nurses in the ER itself... they all deserve so much for everything they encounter on a daily basis. The nurses and imaging techs who assisted me while I was in the hospital were amazing and very compassionate. We often overlook the ones who work long, exhausting shifts, providing care to those who are in need because we live in an amazon age of demanding things right when we feel we need them. Everybody is exhausted from the last two years and healthcare is beyond that exhaustion. Take time to realize they are doing the best they can. I know its hard, but Copley is truly an amazing place for care. Thank you for your swift and caring actions last week. My family and I appreciate each and everyone of you.
This is an atrocious place for primary care. Healthcare doesn't actually appear to be within their vocabulary. Their Billing department is a disaster, their understanding and willingness to help with insurance coverage and benefits is non-existent, unless you get one or two of the kind hearted and actually competent people who work there. But that's a long shot. Primary care is non existent, though gynecologic care is decent. But it's not worth a try. Go elsewhere immediately. Switch immediately. This hospital doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. And you deserve better.
My daughter was born at Rush Copley and we had an awesome experience! The staff in L&D and Mother/Baby were all wonderful. Attentive, and asked us before they did anything with baby. She was with us the entire time, and they asked before taking her out of the room to check bilirubin if we preferred her in the room or out of the room. Everyone was very thoughtful.
The reason the wait time is so long, is because they have ER beds occupied for COVID positive patients with NO symptoms and they don't release for a minimum of 5 days. They let these patients just sit there for 5 full days in the ER bed. Zero stars would be more fitting. Any intelligent person would know this is ER and place them more appropriately.
Very good hospital! Probably the best one. The staff in the nursery department are truly beautiful people. I'm so greatful my beautiful Son RIP, was born here. They have everything you need here and a super cute shop. The only complaint I have is getting transferred to the right department on the phone line. Other than that, no complaints. 5 stars still.
We honestly had a great experience here. A family member was admitted to the hospital a few days prior. Every one of the nurses that we encountered was engaging, educated, and proactive answering our questions about follow up care. We had a far superior experience here than a few weeks ago at Advent health Bolingbrook. Given the choice, we would gladly return here.
I have had to bring my daughter to the ED twice, once at 3 months and once at 6 months. The staff was wonderful both times. Very compassionate with having a little baby, and did everything they could to make us both feel comfortable. They checked on us frequently and explained everything that was going on. I wouldn't ever hesitate to bring my family here if it was needed.
If I could give them more stars I would. I was 32 weeks pregnant when I was admitted to the hospital. But the er was my first stop. Isabella and Liz were the best nurses I've ever had. They were so amazing and caring. They went above and beyond. The nurses who came down for my pregnancy were Janet and Emily. What sweet, funny, and caring nurses they were in such a hard time. They really were amazing. Then when I was admitted I was taken by Kate in surgical. She was the last nurse I had and boy was I lucky. She was so attentive and kind. She was also funny and took great care of me. I guess I hit the jackpot with all these ladies because I was scared of hospitals but they treated me like family. I love that. Bless all of them! Thank you!
