Ruff House

I am first time pet owners, new to ottawa & don’t know anything about bring good behavior and environment for my dog. Ruff House and each person worked there helped us a lot. My rescue puppy is very timid and with their support we raised an amazing therapy dog. Thank you for making us better human and better day parents. The groomer, the trainers and dog day care staff/ team , we are grateful for your time, efforts and care for my dogs. Also, my dogs loves the food from them specially crazy for goat cheese cubs . Highly recommend Ruff House and their services.

Ruff House is incredible! They go above and beyond for the rescue that I fostered and adopted through Bullies In Need. Their services are inclusive, effective, but most importantly SO MUCH FUN. Ruff House hosts events for our rescue, has given tons of food donations, raises money for surgeries and generally are just incredible peeps. Jon and his staff have helped us with our dog training on numerous occasions. His knowledge and dedication is top notch. Our rescue was showing signs of aggression and dominance when chewing on toys and with Jons knowledge and advice we very quickly corrected the behaviour. Strongly recommend to anyone looking for a 1 stop dog trainer/groomer.

We’ve been taking our MAS to get groomed here for a little over a year and have had great experiences with the groomers. Lise is a new addition to the Ruff House team and we had a great experience with her! She took the time to get to know our very anxious dog before the handoff and took my grooming requests to heart. It can sometimes feel like gamble to get a longer haired dog groomed, but I can assure you that in Lise’s very capable hand your dog will come back home to you looking like a fluffy angel exactly as requested. Thank you so much Lise for you patience and great work!

Huey loves going to Ruff House and we love that he has a fun + safe spot to go to for a bit of change in routine — the staff are also lovely! They post regularly on their IG too so you can see a bit of the kind of day your pup had — Huey is in the centre of the photo!

It is very difficult to express our appreciation for the wonderful home away from home that the Ruff House is! For me, it is such a relief to know that there is somewhere I can take my boys when I have to go away and cannot take them with me, that I have absolutely no doubt about their safety, care and happiness! For the boys Biron and Gizmo it is a fun vacation and although we all miss each other...it's ALL good. I also would like to say that Kate is a great groomer and my boys were completely chill when they were getting groomed and came home feeling wonderful afterwards that has not always been so at other groomers and is really important to me. There comfort level proving how well Kate handles them and that they are in no way stressed and they came out looking so cute maybe I am a little biased, but oh well:-. Jon is truly amazing and so is his staff. There is obviously so much passion and love that has gone into making the Ruff House. The very best home away from home ever!!!! Love Biron, Gizmo and Daddy

The staff at the ruff house is top notch! You couldn’t ask for more caring, friendly, compassionate care givers for your fur babies. They have extensive knowledge on such a variety of different amazing things and offer grooming, daycare, boarding, natural products, and expertise! My dog Kira and I have always loved coming here and have always felt welcome. Huge thanks to owner Jon for always being there for all our questions and of course for loving Kira so much too!!!

My wife and I contacted Ruff House in March for doggy daycare. Throughout the whole process, we were absolutely happy with their professionalism, quick response, and their care for all dogs. We had to wait about 5 weeks for the assessment, but we are definitely glad we did! Scottie, our 5 months old puppy is small around 8 lbs, but they always ensure that she is having a great time with other dogs in a safe and positive environment. Scottie has only been going there for 2 weeks twice per week and we were told that she can finally to spend full days, if needed. We really appreciate the gradual process they use to introduce new dogs to daycare as well as the constant feedback they provide. Scottie now gets really excited as soon as we park the car and she realizes it's daycare time : If you want to take your dog to daycare without worrying about their health/safety or about them pick-up bad habits such as barking, this is the place. We especially love being able to watch her on their live camera. Thank you Ruff House and to all the staff there!

We were lucky to move as well as to acquire a new puppy close to the Ruff House. Liam's initial assessment and the personal training session with Rosie went extremely well. We also attended the puppy training classes - fun, informative, very professional. Rosie quickly caught on, and we'll be back for more training... maybe all the way to a doggie PhD...
