Story

Furry Friends Spa and Daycare is located at 56 Hawthorne Avenue, along the Rideau Canal. We offer full grooming services for all breeds of dogs and cats, dog daycare (with indoor and outdoor areas), and cat boarding.

Our groomers are IPG (International Professional Grooming) certified and specialize in handstripping for terriers and handscissoring for all coat types. Chantal Raby, owner, is also a Certified Feline Master Groomer with NCGIA (National Cat Groomers institute of America); there are only 3 in all of Canada.

All of our groomers have low rising electrical tables to accommodate pets of all sizes and age. We have invested in a ClipperVac system, one of the best grooming tools on the market. Our Salon offers bathing facilities with pressurized shampoo dispensers that provide a calming shower massage while deep cleansing your pet's coat.

Our Salon uses a variety of premium shampoos by Nature’s Specialties. These shampoos are tearless, biodegradable and non-toxic. All the pets are hand bathed and hand dried by our trained technicians.

Our feline friends are washed, and then dried in the patented CattyShack drying cubicle. We are the only salon in the National Capital offering this unique and secure drying system.

We are open 6 days a week (for grooming services) for your convenience, from Tuesday to Sunday, 9am to 5pm. You are always welcome at our salon for just a visit of our facilities or a quick nail clip.
Daycare drop-off and pick-up hours are 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week. We require 24 hours notice for daycare bookings.

We have been bringing our golden doodle puppy to Furry Friends for her grooming since she was 3 months old and cannot recommend them enough. Their puppy groom package was the perfect way to get our pup comfortable with being groomed. She is always so excited to go to the shop and loves being around the staff, and they have always done a wonderful job caring for her. My partner and I always remark on how great she looks after her appointment. Chantal and her staff have always been so professional and accommodating. You can really tell how much they love the animals they work with. Furry Friends is definitely worth checking out.
Archie had his first ever full out grooming appointment here! I know he must have been nervous but they said he was calm and gentle throughout the process. He’s a silly mixed breed with a double coat, and needs expert care. He looks amazing and we know he’s feeling lighter and brighter heading into the warmer months. We will be coming back here for all of our regular grooming appointments Enjoy the before on pavement and after photos! He can see!
We’ve taken both our dogs 40 lb corgi-airedale cross and 15-lb chihuahua mix rescue to Furry Friends multiple times and every time has been a great experience! We were a bit worried about our corgi-airedale as he’s still a puppy and has been difficult at times, but Chantal has done a fantastic job each time and loves him! It’s days later and my partner is still remarking over what a good job they did with his fur you can’t really tell in the photo because his hair is a bit unruly and wild naturally, but much thinner, trimmed his beard/paws/belly, hand-stripped, etc.. Go here!!
A few weeks ago my mother went to the Furry Friends Spa and Daycare to get our family cat, Skip a lion cut. She had some mats near her rear end, and wouldn’t let us brush them out. They eventually needed to be shaved off, and Chantal and her team did an amazing job!!Skip was very happy to be free form the mats, and my family will be taking extra care to ensure they do not return. My mother highly recommended Chantal and her team, and after seeing Skip I knew already that they’d take great care of my cat too! So this morning, I brought my cat Pepper in for a sanitary trim. She is long haired and older so she tends to get feces stuck in her fur and can’t clean it out sometimes. The groomers were friendly and had a good sense of humour. They did an amazing job, and now Pepper will be free of dingle berries for the next while! I will definitely bring her back here for any of her grooming needs!
We've been taking our dogs for grooming to Chantal and her team for 11+ years. They always went at the same time, were kept together, and looked great afterwards. We lost our Spaniel last year, and were concerned how our Border Terrier would do on her own, but Chantal has been very understanding and accommodated us ever since by taking her either early morning or end of day.  Took her today and once again she looks just fabulous : Chantal is a wonderful groomer and we'd definitely recommend. Two paws up!
I always know my dog is in good hands whenever I drop him off for a spa day everyone is always excited to see him, and I feel so comfortable leaving him there. He always comes back looking incredible and fresh! Prices are also reasonable for downtown Ottawa. Thanks everyone at Furry Friends for always taking care of Benji
Superb team, very pet's-needs-oriented; they took great care of my two cats and were very gentle and accomodating to each of their personalities! We'll definitely go back with our shy dog; we felt our pets were safe, well taken care of and loved as if it were their own! 100% recommend!
So my friends have a seriously fluffy cat! They had a hard time finding a place that could groom her properlythe first place they took her too was awful! They were so happy with the result after she was groomed here! The cat seemed to enjoy it too as she seemed so relaxed after!
I've been here four times. The first two were fine, though the cut they provided my dog made her look like a rat. Because most groomers were not accepting new clients, I had to go again for a third visit. The third visit was fantastic, as another groomer took care of her. I decided to go back and specifically see that groomer again for a fourth visit. When I arrived for my appointment that groomer was not there was not told on advance and had to go with someone else. The cut my dog recieved was hideous AND she got razor burn all over her belly, inner legs and genitals. Will never be returning.
I brought my 6 month old Aussie puppy to Furry Friends for his first experience at the groomer’s and he came out of there clean, well-coiffed and happy! You can tell they really love dogs and they treat them with care and respect. I will definitely be returning!
