This was such a fun experience. Fun for the whole family no matter their age. Would recommend to everyone. It'll take a couple of hours at least to see everything. They rotate their exhibits every so often because there are just so many pieces. You can even see people work on some of the pieces too which is neat. The staff is also friendly too. There's even a cafeteria inside as well if you need a drink or a snack.
Amazing museum that we enjoy visiting as a family. Kids always love coming from when they were 2 years old until now almost 10. Very engaging exhibits to walkthrough. The museum is set up really well where it keeps all people walking in one direction and everything is built using ramps which makes it excellent for wheelchairs and strollers. Each time we visit we learn so much! Definitely recommend taking workshops when offered in the warmer months... We still talk about the casting one!
A world class fossil exhibit just an hour and a half’s drive from Calgary! This is a must visit if you’re in Alberta, the fossils on display are incredible, showcased in equally stunning environments. The building itself is well maintained, with clean and well thought out interior. Each area is divided based on time period and dinosaur families, which makes the visit structured and educational. There are boards which provide useful information about each species along with self guided tours which you can follow to learn more! Trust me you will be blown away by the Dinos shown in this museum. There is even a gift shop at the end of the path to buy souvenirs and goodies. The pricing is fair for the visit and parking is plentiful outside. Do not miss this attraction, it’s one of the best in Canada!
Awesome Museum, great for kids and family! High quality of maintenance standard. Very informative and interactive. You can the active workshop. Very rich in history. There is a fun-game room near the end for both the kids and adults. Lovely views of the River Canyon around the museum. Recommend!
Great place, especially for kids. It's a 1.5 hour drive from Calgary with quite scenic views on the way. The museum has excellent exhibits and a good dive into the history. One can easily plan about half a day at and around this place. There's parking available but might be unavailable on busy days. Definitely recommended, especially if you're a history enthusiast or have kids. You can get a free entry if you're a new citizen. Just sign up on Canoo app, fill in the required details and show it at the ticket window.
Had a lovely visit! They have redone the museum since I was a kid and I love the new additions. There’s a great interactive exhibit for kids, and I love the new exhibits around the mammoth. Parking is easy because there’s a lot of spaces, and there’s some great hiking right around the museum so you don’t even need to move your car! Parking is free, you just have to book a timed ticket ahead of time. They have a cute little gift shop and a cafeteria; only water is allowed in the museum however. They have a super comprehensive map and offer a little activity book for kids to do while they’re touring the museum. I especially like the plant room! They do have some picnic benches and a play structure outside as well. All in all it was a great trip to see some amazing fossils- they have over 150,000 in their collection!
Very nice museum, tons to see, lots of information to learn about what you are seeing. Lots of fun for the kids. The only draw back from this was the fact that there wasn’t many original bones and a lot of cast which I didn’t expect that. But other then that it was a great experience and I would recommend checking this place out if your nearby or like dinosaurs. The landscape around the museum is awesome. Super clean and friendly staff. Also if you are hungry I would check out the cafeteria for lunch, good selection of pizza 73/burgers/Poutine/drinks/Starbucks at a reasonable price.
Great experience for my first time among the dinosaurs. Lots to see and do with many interactive parts for kids to engage with. Very informative with a worldwide focus. Good cafeteria with a lot of options and indoor seating. Recommend for anyone interested in our earth's vast history.
This is a World class dinosaur fossil museum, plan on a couple of hours to explore. They have free wifi, and you can rent strollers and even wheelchairs for a nominal fee if needed. Plenty of interactive and educational exhibits and even a peek into their lab. I took a relative to a Eat North Culinary Event here tonight and the great food and friendly staff that worked the fun event space didn’t disappoint. Less than 90 minutes drive from Calgary. The location itself is a geological wonderland.
I had the most amazing time at the museum. It was such a great experience! There was so much to see and so much information. The staff were very friendly, and I would recommend this place to anyone. There were even many interactive spots for children to learn and see things. Will definitely be visiting again.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
