I went with my 7yr old and 10yr old. They each paid $32 for full package admission / fossil digging and mineral mine. This place is very overpriced. Agreeing with a lot of other reviews, this place is small, and not really worth it for adults. It has this horrible cheap plastic smell in the whole museum, I’ve stayed there for a little over an hour and it gives me a headache. The playground, as others mentioned, it’s just like a playground from McDonald’s, it’s extremely small, and my 7yr old complained that it’s dark and creepy so he didn’t wanna play. My seven year old was also not very comfortable because the dinosaurs are roaring every second… Now why I still give it 4 stars? Because my kids had a lot of fun. I may not understand why, but I know they are very happy to ‘dig’ fossils and minerals. Even now we got home they are sorting the stones : so .. I guess it’s worth it =p
Great little place to visit. Everything is reasonably priced and the moving dinos tour was cool! My kids did the Dino dig, two girls working there were not enthusiastic to be doing their jobs. Washrooms were clean. Ample parking all around. I suggest selling food…we would have eaten lunch there! Keep up the great work.
Great place to take little ones to see dinasours a lot of choices for souvinirs and toys. Cheap entrance fee thou! Thank you guys it was fun day. CheersVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Honestly better than the Tyrell museum for our kids toddler, 3, 5. Digging for fossils that you get to take home!! Was epic, as well as sifting through sand to find little minerals and gemstones. Coloring area was also a huge hit. The dinosaur displays were pretty fun too for little kids. The animatronics were great. Most of them were good, but the T-Rex was amazing! Looked super realistic! Eyes, eyelids, skin, arms etc all moved and looked great! Honestly one of my favorite things to see in Drumheller ha.
It was OK. The kids enjoyed it. Way to expensive though. Paid almost $200 for 4 kids and two adults. You don't have to do the activities like the mineral mining and the bone dig but once you get in there and the kids see the activities, because it's all open and the kids can see all the fun things to do, then they beg and beg and beg to do it all and you're out a bunch of money. Interesting stuff but for the price and the info I'd rather just go to the museum for half the price and all the info.
What an Awesome venue. Huge selection of dinosaurs in a great gift shop. Rocks, gems, anything else you could imagine. Friendly staff. Perfect ststues outside. The grandkids loved it.Visited onPublic holiday
What an excellent little gift shop, so many artifacts and gifts. Knowledgable and friendly staff. Lots of gifts for the kids. Best of all, ice cream! A great stop when visiting the largest Dinosaur in the world.
This place was good for a one - time visit we won't likely return. The family admission rate is reasonable. They have some beautiful fossils from around the world not so local, but Morocco and China, for example. There is a play structure inside, so kids can play while adults look around. There are moving and roaring dinosaur sculptures, which were cool. The $16pp indoor fossil dig was better suited for kids 3-5, not our 12 and 15 year olds - the fossil selection the prize from the dig was pretty picked over, but it was fun to dig. The security wiring in the display cases was ugly, and wires crossed in front of objects in places could have been done with more care.
It's fun. The animatronix are cool. They offer 2 activity for an extra cost - dig your own fossil and mineral mining. It's not too big though, not much room to explore. We paid $30 for a family of 6. In excess of that you have to pay extra unlike Tyrell museum - $48 for a family of 6 5 yrs under are freeand of course, it's not comparable to it...but overall we had fun. The giftshop is really loaded with interesting stuff you can't fi d elsewhere, even at Tyrell Museum.
Great place for young families with kids over kindergarten or kids who like dinosaur. They have great activities to teach kids about fossils, evolution of dinosaur, and about dinosaurs.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
