I've got to admit that i have never dined in the Duke and have only frequented the establishment to lay down some off track horse betting. The place is clean and really well run, there is a separate room off to the side to watch the ponies race, several televisions and a bar for assorted bevies. The old school vibe in this establishment is pretty cool and have been wanting to go for dinner there forever. We've been told the food is really good so we're definitely putting the Royal Duke on our list of places to dine at down the road.
I love the Duke! It was a surprise the 1st time we went and we have become regulars ever since. They have amazing home made soups and food. One of my favorites on the menu is the Ginger lime salmon salad. I was shocked the first time I ordered this as it was one of the best cooked pieces of Salmon I have had at a restaurant! The outside was crispy and flavourful while the inside was tender and juicy! I have ordered it a lot and never have been disappointed! If your in Okotoks I would highly recommend the Duke! It is a hidden Gem the locals all know about!
Rooms are smaller but very clean. Rates are very reasonable and get better the longer your stay. The pub downstairs has excellent daily specials, and the other menus items are great. Staff is extremely friendly and makes the stay way more enjoyable.Rooms: 4/5
Parking was a little tight. But the food and atmosphere was excellent. Only came to the pub so I cannot rate the rooms. Mrs had the Fish and Chips. I had the Schnitzel. Very tasty. It was busy but the service didn't falter. It was my first visit. I will return.Service: 5/5
Had my wife's 60th birthday here with almost 50 people as guest and wow....I was impressed with the service we got. Thanks to the owners and staff. From the kitchen staff to the floor staff thank you we really enjoyed the evening. Thanks to the whole establishment. We will be back.Service: 5/5
Had the New York steak sandwich special with side soup for $18. Steak was cooked to order with excellent grill lines and very tender. Soup was a beef, corn, potato and cabbage. Seasoned nicely with good portions of each ingredient. Delicious meal... I will be back! I edited because I wanted to add how great the server was. Super friendly and showed genuine care for her customers. All in all one of the best experiences!
The pub and eatery offers a variety of dining areas to choose from. An outdoor patio, High top tables, large booths and a more intimate dining room. They feature a full service bar with live music on select nights. The steak Sandwich is excellent Service: 5/5
Super clean, loved the atmosphere, great food. Fish and chip special was delightful and clam chowder was so good. Can't wait to go back. Our server Sara was very friendly definitely 5 stars overall.Service: 5/5
Food, service & atmosphere is always on point. Started on the lovely patio but wasps chased us inside due to the time of year. It's a must go to when in Okotoks.Service: 5/5
I have only eaten and not stayed in any of their rooms. I really like their Mushroom Swiss Hamburger, though. Excellent burger!
