Had a great lunch here! Chicken schnitzel was soooo juicy can you believe it’s breast meat?? and the cheesy spaetzle was a call back to mac and cheese. Loved everything with the acidic condiments lemon, onions, pickle. The sausage was also delicious, snappy and juicy chorizo yumyum duck fat fries were perfect - crispy and fluffy. The bun is not my fave - falls apart a little too easily while eating even when toasted well, doesn’t stand up to the sausage Pretzels are a must here, we always get the trio with the sauces curry ketchup is my fave - super soft and well salted! Bread pudding was good but a tad sweet and would be infinitely better with ice cream! Would recommend coming when it’s not too busy Sun lunch was quite empty as we have found the food dips in quality when the kitchen is overwhelmed!
Finally got around to checking out the beer hall and so glad we did. We got the pretzel trio and chorizo sausage with duck fat fries. All was really good. Reminded me of Wurst in Toronto, but with more local beers. Will definitely be back!Food: 5/5
We tried this place out on a Sunday afternoon. One side was occupied for a private event, and the other side had a good variety of picnic benches. It was a nice vibe and the service was good. We only tried the duck fries which was great and had a flight each! Will be back!Food: 4/5
Was here for a small wedding party and it was a great place. Great food and the beers were awesome. They have different kinds for all types of beer lovers.Food: 5/5
Fantastic renovation to create a beer hall at this great brewery. Good selection of beer on tap and alternatives available. Duck poutine is excellent. Very good and sizeable chicken sandwich. Will become a regular spot for weekend lunches
Date of Visit: Sun Dec 11, 2022 We have been fans of Royal city brewery for years - often stopping in to pick up beer to take home and occasionally sitting and enjoying a beer with friends. However the newest service offered at RCBC is the Beer Hall, offering a nice menu of food items. the night we were there - there were only a few other guests. The space is rather large - and has long community tables which would accommodate large groups of people quite easily. The space is well decorated, clean, and has a great atmosphere - without being too loud, or obnoxious. I expected very basic food items - but I was pleasantly surprised by the menu. I had the seasonal Turkey sandwich dinner sandwich with gravy, brie, and spicy mustard. We also had the Duck Confit dinner. Both meals were spectacular The flavours were great, and meals were well prepared. This was a pleasant surprise to see such wonderful meal options on their menu. The choices of beers on tap is quite an exhaustive list of in-house brew, local brews, collaborations, and more. You will love visiting the Royal City Brewery Beer Hall for drinks, or dinner. Prices were very reasonable for quality food. The service was exceptional. While the place wasn't very busy, the lady serving us was very attentive, friendly, and engaging.
It's our craft brewery in Guelph! There's picnic table style seating in the beer hall is great a little loud and a good sized patio. There's a smaller space you can rent for group events. My go-to beer is Exhibition IPA. Light, citrusy and crisp. The Earl Grey Porter is a lovely seasonal beer. I'm a big fan of the tacos, and people say the schnitzel is great too! Vegetarian options: Tofu tacos and kimchi bowl are both yummy Parking: It can be a busy lot with the climbing gym next door, but there's usually a spot
The one star review is due to the staff who made my guests uncomfortable. I went to the restroom and it prompted the bartender to b-line straight to the table as if we were going to "dine and dash". I regret my tip, as I was only told after I left. Swap out the waitress and the bartender and it's a decent place.Food: 3/5
Came here Thursday for date night, it was 4:10, says it opens at 4. We were greeted by a girl who tells us they aren't open till 430, so I suggest we sit on the patio and have a drink or two until the kitchen opens up, well she gave a little huff and was like " ugh I don't think the taps are even on, but I'll ask ", before she left my bf stopped her and asked how the food was...she goes " well I work here so of course I'm going to say it's good ", then leaves to the bar area. We stood waiting a few minutes and decided that we would rather find a place that actually wants customers, so we sat in the truck outside for a few more minutes discussing where to go. Well we could clearly see into the restaurant and see her still standing at the bar talking to the guy. I was really looking forward to coming here and trying the food and drinks, unfortunately after that service I won't be returning. Hope they find a nicer hostess in the future.
Went over when visiting Guelph. Only a takeout was open due to renovations. Staff was nice enough to give info on other breweries for a sit down experience. We purchased a few brews to take with us and was not dissapointed.
