Needed to find a place to polish some dress shoes, I asked if it would be possible to darken the leather as I thought it would work better with the suit I was wearing with it. My only regret is not taking a before photo to show what a remarkable job they did. The shoes I gave them were scuffed, and had not been well taken care of at all. What was returned to me looked practically like a brand new pair of shoes! They did an incredible job, testing a few different polishes to see which would have the desired effect. They were understanding of my timeline and sent a text as soon as it was done. Price was 100% reasonable, particularly given the quality and consistency of their work. I would recommend this place to literally anybody looking for high quality shoe repair in Toronto and will be returning here for any and all future shoe related needs.
Rob fixed the stitching that came off from my belt. He replaced it with durable thread. Service was complete in an hour. Rob's friendly and engaging. I highly recommend this place for all your belts, shoes, and repair needs. 5 stars!
On Shoe Repair or "Man Does Not Live by Cookies Alone" I walk. A lot! The destination may vary but not the physics. It keeps me fit and it ensures a steady supply of life’s essentials: the duck confit, the lightbulbs, and, on occasion, a well-earned cookie. Goals such as these require a clear head. Chin up; Eyes right; Eyes left; VISA ready. You become a finely tuned machine with all components perfectly tuned, a masterpiece decades in the making. You haul on your bedraggled, salt-stained and stupidly expensive boots. You tighten them up. A lace breaks. Instantly, your cookie dream crumbles. A Toronto February is neither sandal nor slip-on friendly. It’s boots or duckless dining in the dark – a stark choice. But Google will save you, no? Just search “boot laces Toronto”. Ah, Dear Reader, do you really believe that? No, I didn’t think so. But once again, chin up! After several frustrating hours pounding at the keyboard and zooming on the phone, I found and will now share the location of Nirvana. Ok, maybe not exactly Nirvana, but We, the boot impaired, are given to euphoria when successfully rebooted. I located my bliss at Rob’s Best Foot Forward, an oasis of calm professionalism at 20 Toronto Street, right down in the city core. There really is a Rob, and for 30-plus years, he has provided succour to the city’s suffering soles. He does more than offer shoe repair. He rebuilds, he restores, he refinishes, he refreshes and more. He also has cool shoe stories about the entertainers whose footwear he has saved. I left relaced and relaxed, laden with well-priced products and the professional advice that allowed me to once again confidently proclaim that my boots were made for walking. Five minutes later, I strode into my favorite coffee shop for a celebratory cookie. A world-class city relies on its feet. Shoe repair stores were once ubiquitous but now are rare where they are most needed – downtown! Thankfully, a few remain and Rob’s Best Foot Forward is easily the best I have found. Happy walking!
I mistakenly wore my very expensive pair of To Boot shoes in the snow and they were d managed by salt. I brought them to Rob and after being badly damaged by salt, he brought them back ti like and were 100% saved. Thank you Rob!! Best shoe spot in the city - amazing experience!!
Rob is an absolute delight! He’s super friendly, funny and a delight to talk to. He made me feel very at ease about leaving my shoes with him because I knew he’d treat it like his own. He did an incredible job with my Gucci loafers - it looks brand new, I couldn’t believe my eyes! There’s nowhere else I’ll be taking my shoes but here now!
Rob's work is IMPECCABLE! I brought in black boots that needed repairs to the soles and heels and a backpack that needed mending in multiple spots. Rob made them both look brand new. I am so happy that I can keep wearing the items I love thanks to him. His pricing is also very fair compared to having to buy new items and his customer service and attention to detail and quality cannot be topped. HIGHLY recommend!
Highly disappointed. Didn’t even bother to clean the soles. Paid $40 for mirror shine and it was a poor quality shine.Probably did a little work on toe & left rest of the shoe unattended. Had given 2 pairs below is the one with mirror and other was just a regular shine. I do understand that it takes few shines for the mirror gloss to come perfect but this is below average.
Rob does amazing work! If I could give 10 stars I would. I have a pair of burgundy dress shoes that were stained by hand sanitizer. I tried a few different places and they all said they could not fix them. I took them to Rob and they look brand new! He is very friendly, reasonably priced, and had them fixed within a week. Will definitely go back!
Rob's Best Foot Forward is just the best. After a friend's recent referral to Rob, I've now recently had five pairs of shoes repaired. Shoes I've not worn for years. The quality workmanship is top tier. He can't help himself. It must be done right and must be the best. So happy I found this wonderful shop. Thank you, Rob.
Rob is the master of shoe repair. A king amongst us. Took two pairs of designer leather dress shoes that needed serious repair new soles, water and salt stains from two Canadian winters. Yes, it was a bit expensive and yes, I had to wait a few weeks, but I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for. And Rob delivered. The results were amazing -- I have my old shoes back like new and in impeccable condition. Truthfully these were headed for the donation bin. Thank you Rob for an amazing customer experience. Ten stars.
