About
Your Campus Coffeehouse
"Rooster’s Coffeehouse has been a favourite hangout for students since the early 1970s. Though Rooster’s has gone through numerous transformations in the last thirty-five years, its mission has remained the same: to offer the Carleton community great food and drinks at reasonable prices in a friendly, welcoming space. In its current incarnation, Rooster’s offers an extensive breakfast and lunch menu featuring pitas, soups, salads, omelettes, and of course, the famous Rooster’s bagelwich. The menu also includes a complete selection of coffees, teas, smoothies, and other speciality beverages. All Rooster’s hot beverages are fair trade and organic whenever possible."

Foods decent enough for the price and service is pretty good. Roosters always seems to be busy, so expect to wait a little for your food. I recommend the bagelwich personally but I've tried their other food and it is also pretty decent. Their smoothies are pretty great as well. All around good place to go in and grab a quick bite.Food: 4/5
Some of the worst customer service I’ve gotten. I go up and ask the man working what the difference was between the Roosters and regular grilled cheese. I ask for the former, I got the regular. Not only that, but the coffee was awful. I asked for a medium vanilla iced coffee. He told me it regularly comes with vanilla and if I wanted extra, but I thought if it came with vanilla regularly it would be sweet enough. He asked what milk I wanted and I said “oh whatever you normally put in” thinking I would just get regular milk. Nope. No milk and when I asked if I could get milk in it the guy was so rude about it. And when I drank it there was definitely no vanilla in it. It tastes like the coffee you get in diners and it was gross and bitter. Not going back there, gonna stick to Bridgehead and Starbucks thanks.
The hot spot of the university - be it lunch, coffee or just a place to study, roosters is always full of people. The reasonable prices, delicious food and the overall vibe of this coffeehouse speaks for itself. A must visit to anyone studying or visiting Carleton University. Their everything bagel and falafel pita are my personal favourites!
My favourite place in the city for a chai latte, matcha latte, and french vanilla. Beats the other chain cafes on campus at both flavour and price--and they don't charge you extra for milk substitutes! Keep an eye out for their deals of the day: I always get a matcha latte on Mondays and a chai latte on Tuesdays because they're 10% off after 11. Food is really good here too! Always hot and fresh. Plus you're supporting the students :
My favourite chai lattes in the city! The service is fast and incredibly friendly. Price points are pretty fair for broke students. I absolutely love their menu - it caters to different dietary needs. Soy and other dairy options are no extra cost in lattes and smoothies! There is a good amount of seating too, but it gets packed pretty often. Perhaps my favourite thing is that they have fair trade options and use compostable and recyclable packaging!! They are one of the only places on the Carleton campus that has a compost bin. I’ve never been disappointed by the food here. Highly recommend, even if you aren’t a Carleton student!
Price is good, but not for the portion size got a tiny amount of chicken
I got 3 smoothies to take home and try each a separate day. one of the employees was happy to make suggestions and provide a personal opinion on her favourites, which are now my favourites too! I recommend the mango smoothie. it’s a bit tiring to climb all those stairs but the smoothies are worth it in the end. also, they kept really well in my fridge! best smoothie spot on/near campus.
Best place on campus for a quick bite. Student staffed and managed, so makes for a great experience. Great food for a university. Decent atmosphere and nice staff. They added an online ordering take out option and they have my food ready by the time I get down there, every time! Overall, high recommend!
One of my favorite hangouts on campus! Really great atmosphere for studying or writing or hanging out with friends. Not to mention that they have the BEST coffee on campus - I recommend the Peruvian roast - for a really good price, not to mention maybe the best grilled cheese I've ever had. Scones are similarly delicious. However I do wish they had a better selection of muffins since I find their muffins too dry and their Iced Awesomeness really leaves something to be desired the only one where I can taste the flavour syrup at all is Mint. Still, really great place with lots of affordable options and again, best coffee on campus. It also has a decent selection of vegetarian items.
Good place to get some reasonably priced food or study on campus. I love going to study here because I always run into people I know. Would be nice if there were a few more places to charge devices but I guess it's hard to get that done. The staff are all students and very friendly. I see them out around campus enjoying life all the time
