My partner's family has been going to Romance Jewellers for a long time as their trusted jewellers, so they recommended I go check them out. Don't let the small mall jeweller facade turn you off. As someone who had their nose up and thought higher quality jewelry came from the well known stores, I am so happy to admit my ignorance! Every time I come in, every staff member is exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. On top of that, their product is high quality and top notch. Their service is anticipatory, based on your needs, and they have been incredibly reliable for any changes or alterations for anything I come in with. My fiance went with Romance Jewellers for my engagement ring which I love so much!! and my wedding band. They modified both our wedding jewelry to our taste and produced even higher quality jewelry for items we brought in for repair. I'm so so pleased with this place and I will consider myself a life long client! Lyn is amazing and very reliable. I highly recommend them :
I recently had a custom sapphire necklace and ring made by Lynn and Victor, and I couldn't be happier with the results! The craftsmanship is absolutely stunning. Lynn was incredibly helpful and patient throughout the process, and made sure to deliver exactly what I wanted but didn’t know I wanted. I will definitely be returning for any future jewelry needs.
I highly recommend Romance Jewellers for their quality of work and customer service. We purchased our white gold wedding bands from here and have been impressed with their quality. My ring has only been rhodium plated twice in ten years, compared to my engagement ring from a big-box store, which has been rhodium plated numerous times. When we visited from out of town and needed two rings resized, Romance Jewellers provided fast, helpful service.
Small jeweller that has been in the community for a long time. I have friends who have had custom pieces made here and have been satisfied. I have only had jewelry “repaired” here and so this is a review of those services as well as the customer service experience. The first time I brought a necklace in it was a chain made by Pyrrha. Pyrrha is a Vancouver designer, the piece I brought to romance jeweller was one of their signature talismans, a sterling silver chain with a combination of a gently oxidized and fully blackened finish. When I picked up the necklace after having the broken clasp repaired the jeweller had polished the necklace, removing the signature finish, a very honest mistake but it very much changed the look and feel of the necklace. I don’t think I even mentioned the mistake to them at the time. I just brought another necklace to be repaired, it is a delicate 14k yellow gold chain made be Adina Reyter. When I dropped off the necklace I confirmed with the woman at the counter to keep the designers nameplate that is attached to the lobster clasp, a week later when I came to pick up the necklace the nameplate was missing, making the necklace appear unauthentic imagine removing a Tiffany logo from a chain!. The owner insisted that the jeweller had simply misplaced the nameplate and that they would find it. I told her that I completely understand that mistakes happen, my concern was that if I ever wanted to resell the necklace or pass it down to my daughter it now doesn’t have it stamp of authenticity and the value is not the same. I requested that if they were unable to find the missing piece they order a replacement. A few days later I received a call from Lani, whom I had not had a previous interaction with, to tell me they were unable to find the nameplate and would be ordering me a replacement from the designer. I thanked her and asked her to let me know once it arrived. Lani then confirmed I would still be charged the repair cost for the necklace I brought in to which I responded I would be happy to do that, and that sounded fair to me. She scoffed and said “well it’s more than fair, you’re getting a brand new necklace” as if them resolving their negligence was a favour to me. Lani then proceeded to ask me to write them a positive review about how well taken care of I was and how they went above and beyond, she made sure to ask that I not include the part about how the necklace was mishandled in the first place. I told Lani that I couldn’t in good conscience refer customers to her as this was the second time a piece of jewelry had been returned to me in worse repair than when it was dropped off, but I also told her that because the issue was being rectified I would not write her a negative review either. I would not be posting this now had her unprofessionalism ended there, but it did not. Lani called me to tell me my replacement necklace had arrived, she then went on to say that the necklace seemed sturdier and of better quality than the one I had dropped off. She insisted I bring a receipt to prove that it was authentic! Their jeweller was the person who removed its authenticity! Sure, no problem, incredibly insulting but at this point I’m not surprised. Meeting Lani at the store she was on the phone with another client and told them “I have to go, there is a customer here I need to contend with”. It quickly became apparent that the reason the original necklace seemed inferior was because their apprentice jeweller had replaced the the clasp all together with a cheaper 10k clasp after misplacing the original. They increased the repair charge from what I was quoted, I paid and went on my way. Lani was condescending and rude and while she is an employee manager? at this store I will never give them my business again, it just not worth it, unfortunate because I do always try to support local when I can.
Best Jewelry in the lower mainland. The variety of models and designs is vast. The customer service is amazing going above and beyond with the clients. Definitely this is my jewelry store from now on. I invite you to visit them and see for yourself.
I love my engagement ring! I usually go online to buy my jewelry however, my fiance wanted to know what sort of ring I wanted so he had his mom bring me out ring shopping. I was initially hesitant as I usually shop for my jewelry online. However I loved the experience here! The clerks were very patient and knowledgeable. The jeweler was very accommodating with with my request for my fiances birthstones on the ring. They let me try on various types of rings to get a feel for how they would look and at the end the price was about as much as anyone would have paid online. Except you got to see and touch it before receiving it.
Be very very careful going here and maybe have your ring measured so to get the exact size you want prior to any ring resizing. This started off as a great experience the turn around time was really quick and the pricing fairly reasonable. However after only having both my wedding band and engagement ring back a week I ended up losing my engagement ring. Why or how? It flung off at some point on my way home from work due to being too loose. This was the issue both my husband and myself had said many many times and clearly they did not listen. From there I wrote an email just letting them know what happened and first I was told that it was their fault and that they would make me a new ring free of charge. I thought oh this is great and then sadly it took yet another turn because they said no it was a miscommunication that I would need to pay for the cost of materials and then get refunded for the sizing. Sorry but to tell your client one thing get their hopes up and then change your mind? Not good business sense at all! I decided to get the refund of the $300 back and the owner plus the Jeweller could not even have the courtesy to come over and apologize. I will never ever come back here ever.
I had a lovely experience with everyone at Romance Jewellers! They were able to get my grandads watch fixed and removed extra links free of charge after I came back to remove a few more. They were extremely welcoming, and the best customer service I have had in a long time! Will for sure be coming back to them for anything Jewelry related!
The lady who helped me was super kind and helpful. I had a bracelet with a tangled chain that I had taken to 3 other jewelers including Swarovski where it was originally purchased. All 3 of them said they weren't able to do anything about it even though the job itself was quite simple and just needed someone to spend a bit of time. I was walking by Romance Jewelers, went inside and sure enough the lady fixed it for me in literally a minute - free of charge too. Another employee there even took a few minutes to explain how best to care for the bracelet in order for knots not to happen again. The staff were friendly, courteous and polite.
Honest and helpful nice people and fair price did a beautiful job on my 14k diamond pendant Lion, fits my 18k gold chain now. 2 week wait but worth the quality job.
