Severely overpriced and boring food! Had the duck.. they didn’t even leave the skin on for crispy duck skin!! What chef does that?? Plus there was no seasoning on anything, the pepper sauce was definitely not pepper sauce, tasted more like consommé and Worcestershire sauce. The waitress was unprofessional. My friend had the Manhattan steak and was as disappointed as I was, no seasoning and boring plate. Not to mention that the prices are extremely exaggerated. Not impressed at all
Angus beef was great. Just like a self serving barbecueFood: 5/5
Extremely over priced.. 400$ bill for 2 people.. the most sad part that it wasn’t even delicious.. octopus was over cooked.. the waitress didn’t even asked us if we liked it.. 20$ for a half of a beet without any sauce was literally tasting nothing.. 12$ for one crevette.. anyway we were ready to pay but please we’d like to have something at least tasty for that money! Had much better experience for half of this price!
Have to say this place goes in my top 10 for steak houses. Loved the concept, the filet mignon was just perfect so was the shrimp. The service was awesome as well as we had three people waiting on us. Find it funny how people in other reviews complain about cooking their own steak, that's the whole thing, it's a great concept, awesome dining experience. Definitely will be back.
The concept is definitely very interesting with a lot of potential. However, their ventilation system really needs to be worked on. As soon as we got to the lobby of the hotel which is considerate distance from the restaurant, we could smell the grilling meats odours. And as soon as we step into the restaurant, we see clouds of the smoke from the volcano rocks everywhere and of course the smell will deeply steep into your clothing and hair. The food itself is a lot about show. The shrimps came in a huge martini glass with a big piece of horseradish. The caesar salad was ‘deconstructed’ in which you can find the crouton in a glass shape with a parm bottom. It looks cool but it is not the best delivery. As for the mains, the meat, even though covered with mushroom seasoning were definitely lacking salt and flavour. And the volcano rock cooks the meat but does not provide the char well hence do not develop that desired caramelized crust you would expect from a high temperature cooking. The ice cream and the brownie came from what seemed a pre made and pre frozen dish in which the items were still rock hard. The lemon pie was enjoyable. Fun experience with hands on involvement but keep your expectations low.
We dine in this restaurant the is located inside L’Esterel Hotel wen we visited last Feb The food was good we decided to take 1 steak and 1 shrimp dish to share They were good we has to cook it over the hot stone hence the name RoK but not the best I had It Jess a great view for lunch and summer early evenings I was a nice experience and server was very nice worth the visit
Love it! Amazing experience, the food is super delicious and so interesting to cook your own steak
Such wonderful food. Although the restaurant itself is small, the food is unbelievably good. Every year for the past five years I have eaten at this restaurant and every time it was an unbelievably good dinner. They have a cool concept where you cook your own steak on a super heated rock however you like it. The price at the restaurant should be expected since they mainly serve cooked foods, steak, there. I would extremely recommend this restaurant to whoever wants to have a perfect dinner, and have wonderful memories.
They charged us 15$ for two bottle of sparkling water without ever mentioning that it would be charged. The food itself was extremely bland lamb and seafood, with bland sides, and they charge you extra 50$+ for everything thats worth a damn on the menu if you're dining with the package. Only the presentation is good. Ended up paying over 200$ for a poor experience.
Very nice concept... cool place to enjoy
