We got take out the first night which was pretty decent but was ready an hour late. The second night we dined in and found that the food was really overpriced for what they served. The calamari was actually okay. However our mains were disappointing; the fish was tasteless and the stake was extremely chewy and rubbery. For this price, you can have an excellent meal elsewhere. Save yourself the time and money and make alternate arrangements. The staff were the only great part of the experience.
An unfortunate victim of staff shortages the last few times I’ve eaten from Chaise58. I’ve been going to Esterel for years now, it’s one of my favorite winter getaways. The food used to be incredible, with a diverse menu. Even at the beginning of Covid, they maintained their quality of food. However, the last few times I’ve been, I have found that they’ve hiked up prices and the dishes I’ve ordered parm and prosciutto pizza, the new bison burger the last time, pasta the time before have not been up to par. The burger tasted like it was cooked from frozen and burnt, and the dough for the pizza was incredibly hard and the topping ingredients didn’t taste like they were good quality - given the hefty price tag. It pains me to give them a less than excellent rating, as I believe they have had truly excellent service in the past and this is likely due to difficulty hiring. The staff they do have seem stretched thin and are always running around, and the restaurant is constantly booked so it’s hard to get a reservation, even though the space itself seems at half capacity. *** Breakfast buffet was amazing. Again, likely due to not having to make separate dishes and having prep time for their team. We need more talent in the Laurentides area!
I am not sure why the place is rated two stars. we went for the Chais58 package which included a three course meal at the restaurant . The view was super nice with a great view of the lake. The appetizers were good, tasty and plentiful- we had the shrimp and cobb salad. For the main dish , we took the steak and fish and both were good . I was not a fan of the dessert but they were fairly good . We took the cheesecake and tartellete. The service was excellent. Don’t expect a very fancy over the top place but it’s definitely not a 2 star restaurant .
Our dinner experience at Chaise58 was quite disappointing. The reality did not meet expectations due to the fact that they charge a hefty price tag without the service and food to match. We got tiny portions of the roast chicken and elk which were both served lukewarm and lacked inspiration. The calamari was sad, max 8 skinny pieces and used lettuce as filler on the plate. Our negroni’s barely had any vermouth or gin, and we were never presented with a wine/cocktail menu. Our server even came by with a second dishes because he did not even realize that we had already eaten. For over 200$ for two people, our dinner at Chaise58 was severely disappointing.
Delicious roasted cod cauliflower, beets, green peas and saffron sauce
We ordered the steak tartare as an appetizer and you could tell it was not fresh and was “pre made” as the onions under the tartare were squishy and old. They also brought cold bread that was pre toasted with the tartare and when we asked for fresh bread you could tell it was microwaved. They pre toast all the bread and microwave it when serving. We saw other tables get fresh bread and butter but we were not served this. The steak apparently always comes medium rare but it’s strange they don’t ask you how you like it cooked, it came more cooked than medium rare. Honestly for the price and supposedly fine dining I would not waste money eating here. If you are staying at the hotel I highly recommend making your own little charcuterie and cheese platter in your room and enjoying it outside on your patio with your own bottle of wine.
Offers dine in but only for the clients of the resort. This place shouldn't be listed in the "dine in" as it's not a place you can just walk in and go eat. Wrongful advertisement, don't lose your time to go there if you don't have a room at the resort.
Absolutely delicious. Pork chop was cooked to perfectionmashed corn a welcome surprise, calamari was great, veal ravioli paired wonderful with the wine.Waitress was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu...will return.
The worst experience ever! We arrived at the restaurant and asked to sit next to the window and the hostess changed our table with no issue. Then, the waiter started screaming at the hostess and us telling us we are messing up the schedule while using swear words. This was super unprofessional and started off our experience on the wrong foot. However, we brushed it off and continued our night. My friend got the gnoochi and they were ice cold! I have never experienced this is a restaurant!! The sauce was very cold and the gnoochi weren’t even cooked!! The resort is nice, but you are better off bringing your own food.
Hostesses are slow & disorganized. This place is difficult to get into even if just to order drinks at the bar. When we went for dinner, the food was mediocre at best and the server was absent. We flagged down the busboy a couple of times to order drinks or to ask for anything that was missing. I ordered the Udon noodle plate, which didn't contain any udon noodles and arrived cold. Instead, I was served italian pasta linguine. Also, it contained 4 tiny cubes of tofu... At $25 a plate... My husband had the fish. The portion was generous, but unfortunately, the fish was overcooked and dry. On the flipside, the breakfast buffet was pretty good and the staff is very nice. Issues would likely be fixed if they had better management.
