We ate here for the first time in November. It was amazing and we will definitely be back. The hamburger was one of the best I've had and it was nice to be able to order it how I wanted. The chicken looked & tasted amazing. It was a fun and unique dining experience and I enjoyed watching all the food leave the kitchen as much as I enjoyed eating it!
My boyfriend and I had a great breakfast here. We didn’t stay at the hotel but we would consider given our experience. The host and waitress were very nice, and love the ambiance and the cooking over an open flame. I had the French toast which was very tasty and my boyfriend had the egg and sausage hash, also very tasty. He let me try some of the potato and sausage and they had so much flavor. Hope to be able to come back soon
The atmosphere of this restaurant was fantastic and the staff were wonderful. We came during the off season which may have been why there were more then a few items unavailable that were on the menu. We went with the seafood board and brisket for dinner and while the board was delicious the brisket was a miss.. four small slices of meat that were on par with some roast beef I would purchase from the deli section at a store. To finish our meal we had the apple crumble with vanilla ice cream. This was spot on, from the presentation to portion size it was great! Overall I would say it’s a decent place to eat.
Seated at the chef's table we started with a dozen Oysters then ordered the Tomahawk Steak! Watching the chef's cook it on the live fire was amazing. Cooked to perfection, the sides were also super delicious. Tried the three donut desert, loved the brioche donut and the dips. Would love to go back to try the seafood platter, and a number of other dishes.
Delicious food, lovely space and great service. They were out of a few things due to a menu change. Would definitely return to try more items. Plus we sat next to the fire which was fun.
After a few nights at Hotel Zed in Tofino we checked out their restaurant, Roar. Man I wish I had done it sooner!! We had the most amazing breakfast. Eggs cooked perfectly, tastiest potatoes ever, lots of lox, incredible combination of flavours, generous portions and the best latte I've had in forever. The staff were great and the decor was amazing. Can't wait to go back and try more food - great seafood and vegetarian options make my mouth water at the thought of it!!
Terrific spot in Tofino for dinner. Great vibe and cool retro design and furnishings. Food was terrific and we were able to get a table on the patio, complete with blankets to help take the chill off. We ordered the salmon salad and the brisket followed by a lemon raspberry torte. All were excellent. Also had a glass of orange Pinot Gris that was an awesome drink.
Amazing new spot in Tofino, opened earlier in spring 2021. Really enjoyed dinner and the creativity behind all the dishes. Fun to watch the chefs at work too - seems like a great team.
What an enjoyable experience! The food was superb and the service, even better! To say it was fresh is an understatement - the mushroom risotto was made with mushrooms foraged by the staff the day before! And we were even able to chat with chef Chad about the cooking process and some of the sauces he had in the works for future - I had the roast watermelon main, which was amazing! Kait was an amazing server and made sure that all of our needs were met. 100% coming back thebnet time I'm in Tofino and will recommend to everyone I know! If it's possible to sit at the chef's table, it is an absolute must!
Pricey, but the service and food make it worth it! We went for my husband's birthday and the server was great! The food was delicious, huge portions, and the menu says that they give a percentage to the local First Nation whose land the restaurant is on. Such a great thing to see
