Went for the Inflatables but surprised by the amenities. So overall this is a great camp to go if you have kids. There are several things from the bouncy pillow, sand play area, river area for fishing/boating, the inflatables on the lake and others. They have different themes for each weekend which is lots of fun. There was a parade of lights that happened when we were there where lots of people put lights on their golf carts or bikes. The bathrooms rooms were clean and well kept. Their gift store had almost everything you would need for camping.
This was our second time this year at this campground as we were hoping the first time was terrible because it was the beginning of the season…nope. Pros: Bills Lemonade! Delicious! Staff on patio at Bullheads Restaurant were very friendly! Cons: We were disappointed as we were at the pond on Friday and all of the sudden a high school football team pulls up in a bus and starts unloading. There had to be 40+ of them and they just completely took over the pond. Small children were pushed off the inflatables and it was quite chaotic. Nothing against the teens as they were just having fun BUT I don’t think day passes should be available Fri-Sun as it just ruins it for the campers. Voiced concern to staff but they just looked at me and did nothing. I did not see an adult staff member all weekend. It was run by teens which I would have no problem with if they had proper training and basic problem solving skills but unfortunately they did not. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and I never once saw anyone cleaning them. Need quarters for showers but no change machine by the showers and when I asked staff at store they didn’t even know their showers took quarters. The stores prices were ridiculous-selling a candy bar for $4+ is crazy! They are price gouging kids that just want a little treat. $75/a day to rent golf carts that clearly have not been taken care of and barely run. Not worth the hefty price tag that’s for sure, you can literally walk faster than their junky carts. There doesn’t seem to be any rules for seasonal campers as the first thing you see when you pull in is a seasonal campsite that’s basically a junkyard. There are gazebos around the pond but they require you to rent them at a price of $100/day. Come on! We are at a man made pond at a campground in Wisconsin-not a high class resort in the Bahamas. Not surprising they were left empty all weekend. Very disappointed for a second time and will not return.
I'm going to start this review with this is an awesome kid friendly family oriented campground! Great job to those that run it. Now for why I only gave it 3 stars. It's packed its noisy there were more people than a small town. The camp store people are not very kind. Our site was horrible not a flat spot on it. Table had no level location. Chairs weren't level. Was hard to cook outside since nothing was level. Our camper almost rolled off the sight when we unhooked from the truck. It is next to the expressway so you hear the traffic noise and no easy access to the expressway in either direction. Now this was my experience. There were alot of very nice level lots. And the person with the sign that says cheapest campfire wood is the best place to get wood!
Campsite was ok. Very open. But we booked for mid September and booked a beachside elite site. Pretty expensive at about $200+ for the weekend. We were never informed that pool would be drained and closed, and Pond with inflatables would be closed as well. Temps were mid 70's. When we asked about it, the worker said that it's normal for places to close water attractions after Labor Day. We even camped the weekend prior at another place, and it was fully open *also after labor day* We are seasoned campers and are aware that some places do this. But it is always clearly stated on the website and booking info. So you can imagine our surprise when our very expensive full price site was useless to our kid. The only reason we are giving them 2 stars instead of 1, is they gave us a small credit. The difference between a standard site and the useless beach site. For that we are at least grateful. I would suggest posting this closure info on the website so there are no surprises. The staff was friendly and they have some cool activities for kids so it was not a complete waste.
This was our first time at River's Edge and can't wait to go back! The sites were awesome. The staff was helpful. We actually didn't fit well in the site depth of site was great, couldn't get the slide outs extended. They didn't have to be, but were very accommodating and gave us a different site that worked great. The grounds were immaculate. The permanent campers were very welcoming and explained how things worked and events that would be going on while we were there. They even let us leave our camper in a secure area on Sunday due to our granddaughter being in a tournament and we didn't know when we would be done for that day. They went above and beyond.
The staff was not respectful and unwilling to tell any information until they get your money. Once they have money then they tell you cannot get a refund after they have charged you. The staff didn't want to show me how to find my site. Ended up asking a customer how to find it. The staff at the office had an attitude because it seemed beneath them to answer questions from an older person. The staff seemed more interested in chasing each other around. The staff had to drive their golf carts in the way while you are trying to back into your space while they look at you like it's your fault they're in your way. To pricey for the attitude. I'm glad I didn't swim in the water attractions because of attitude, how bad can the water not being maintained?
Rivers Edge is a blast! My family and I have stayed here 3 years running and each year is more fun! The staff is helpful, cabins are clean and there is literally no way you could get bored! We had 10 of us, from age 4-47 and there was something for each of us! Can't wait to come back in 2024!!Rooms: 5/5
We stayed here for the first time this past weekend and it was great. My family and I have camped in many places throughout Wisconsin with a tent. We’ve tried some campgrounds with amenities and some without anything. This is by far the best campground we’ve been to that has ALOT of amenities. First, the staff was great, polite at check in, polite and courteous at food hut near inflatables pond, and answered our plenty of questions we had. 2nd the inflatable water pond was a big hit for our kids, that’s all they wanted to do all day every day is play on the inflatables. It’s worth it to camp here just for that attraction alone. There were some older kids tipping a part of the inflatables and it wasn’t very long before the staff was out there correcting the situation. Thank you, they almost crushed my toddler on a few occasions. The separate pool is good size, the inflatable jumping pillow was fun for the kids, and there’s a playground if they get bored of all that. There’s a bar/restaurant on site bullheads which helps to not have to cook a meal or two at the campsite. We have no complaints, this place was awesome, we’ll be coming here again and letting our family and friends know how amazing this campground is. We drove 3 hours to get there, and we’ll be doing it again! Also, the firework show on July 4th was amazing, super long and a great show. Thanks!
This place was AWESOME! Seriously, our kiddos had a blast. We went over the 4th of July weekend . There were a ton of activities to get into. Laser tag, candy bar bingo, arts and crafts, glitter tattoos, a jumping pillow, rainbow train rides and did I mention A WATERPARK! Well kinda, it’s a big swimming pond with big inflatable slides and obstacles. It was really neat. It was a great way to beat the heat. It seems these kind of places cater to more of the RV/Camper crowd but we felt very welcomed being basic tent campers. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Lots of seasonal campers as well as the weekenders. Our site was not very large but it had everything we needed. It was an affordable place to stay. We will most definitely be back!
Great campground! Tons of fun for the whole family. My only negative was noise from the Highway. Our site was among the closest to the road. I couldn't really hear it from inside the camper, but it was pretty loud outside. After being there a while, I didn't really notice it anymore.Rooms: 5/5
