Reviews
Aside from the shop being super old looking, this place is awesome for a student. Cheap meals, fair portions and very fast service. The staff is very nice and friendly. 10/10 recommend to students on a budget.
Food is definitely cheap but needs improvements. Or maybe customers should just avoid the 4 dollar meals. This was my first time here and I got curry chicken rice for my lunch to go. Only back home found out that it was full of onions with few chicken stripes. The curry was literally yellow sticky water with a little salt in it. Sorry that I don't usually criticize any food but this first experience succeeded in keeping me from any future visits.
tasty affordable chinese food. Lunch specials start at 3.99. This place is popular with students and other wanting a quick and tasty lunch on a budget.
The food is pretty good for the price and the portions are decent. However, some tables are sticky and the curry chicken dish is to be avoided; it has no taste.
Great price and quality. The lady is very nice. Offers good quality English translation menu so no worries if you don't speak Cantonese.
By far, the most affordable Chinese restaurant you will ever encounter, with $4 entrees everyday. The restaurant is run by the kindest old couple.
Great budget location, you get what you pay for--don't be expecting some fancy place here--it's homey and on the older side. This place has been around for longer than even new incoming undergrad uni students nowadays, so it holds a form of history in its space that I think should be respected. Run by a wonderful pair of people---one who cooks, one who takes the orders & runs the cash; they make me feel completely at home whenever I go there. People need to remember the price at which you're paying for--perfect budget location for a quick bite. Can't complain about the meal when it's $4 before tax+tip and one can walk out with a $5 meal and be decently full. It's definitely more HOME FOOD style...so there's no place for people paying marginal prices, expecting a gourmet meal here, and then complaining about it. Favourite is the BBQ Pork fried rice or an Eggplant dish--it's a simple meal but I wouldn't complain for the price and location where they're at.
Great food at a very reasonable price! Can get food to-go or dine in.
I've been going to this restaurant for over 20 years, since I was a student at U of T in the mid 90s. Owners super friendly, food is always great, and the prices haven't changed since my first visit credit to the owners for supporting students on a budget. Love the daily specials. Just took my 5yr old son there for the first time and saw the owners' adult son who I first met when he was my son's age. A great moment and another great meal.
Great place! It’s owned by two lovey old people!! Don’t expect a fancy looking restaurant because this isn’t it, however, it is very homey and welcoming! People gotta keep in mind that this place has been around for a long time and survived the surge of price in building rent as many small businesses have had to shut down the last few years Cheap and delicious food, great for students or anyone under budget. I always come here to eat and it’s right beside this bubble tea place too so it’s convenient after :
