Welcome to Mother’s Dumplings, a cozy, welcoming café in the heart of Chinatown! Born in Shenyang, our owner and cook, Zhen, cooks up delicious Northern Chinese style comfort food based on family recipes passed down from generation to generation.

Since opening our doors in June of 2005, Mother’s Dumplings has received praise from numerous publications. We are proud to have been voted Best Chinese Restaurant in Toronto three years in a row! NOW Magazine calls Mother’s Dumplings the “Toronto’s Best $5 Lunch,” saying “this spotless, subterranean, Chinese café specializes in delicious, house-made Chinese dumplings and noodles dishes that are as much a treat for the pocketbook as for the taste buds!”

This is one of the best places in Toronto for dumplings! I really enjoy all of their steamed options as well as the smashed cucumber salad. You also have to love that they have a semi-open kitchen so you can see the cooks making everything fresh.

Consistently good food at a fair price. If you are craving dumplings, you can't go wrong with this place. Personally, I like Dumpling House better but not by a large margin. Only negative would be the service was slow at the time I went

First of all, staff is great. But more importantly the dumping are amazing. Definitely a top contender for best dumplings in the city.

This place is so good!! Truly the BEST dumplings ever!! We got Hot and Sour soup and the beef and chive steamed dumplings. The dumplings had some juice in them which made them even better! They are not considered soup dumplings but they are juicy! The prices are fair not too pricy. We were served tea as well.

My favourite dumpling place in Toronto. The General Tsao chicken is pretty great too.

Forgot to take a photo of the dumplings but I had a delicious lunch here. In and out in under 30 minutes. Freshly made and cooked, fast service, and great taste.

Only Takeout during COVID period. Delicious soups and fresh tasty dumplings. Very nice service :

The food is regularly well prepared and yummy, staff members hands over great customer service. I really like how neat it is and character. Will come back again.
