The pharmacy staff has always been helpful, caring, and friendly. They go out of their way to ensure we are taken care of. The rest of the store staff has also been great!

Nasty store manager ever!! I was using a coupon from manufacture gave me. The store manager refused to let me use it. It's fine because I could buy them at SAFEWAY. He was so rude with excusing why it wasn't taken and kept saying me over and over until I left the store.

Deplorable customer service and having your private health information bandied about are what's in store for you if you are a customer! Short version: -- Elitist pharmacy manager without any hint of professionalism -- Staff willing to gossip about you and your meds in front of other customers -- Retaliation for complaining about service and name-calling -- Slander in the form of being called racist for asking if anyone else can help, or anyone else that can possibly read the script -- Aggressive verbal attacks The pharmacy accidentally put in my auto-refill on the wrong schedule, so when the time came to refill, it didn't do it automatically. I had refills for the same script here for 8 months, so knew that it was probably a minor mistake. The pharmacist refused to fill the script, said it was too soon, and wouldn't let me speak to anyone else when I requested repeatedly to speak with someone who would be willing to help, or ANYONE ELSE who could read my script (critical thinking skills please!). She refused, and told me it wasn't her fault and that she wouldn't fill it. I call back to get her name so I can file a complaint with my plan (as my PCP advised). I wasn't too full of sugar at this point, I admit, and told her that I was going to complain (my bad, shouldn't have told her, right?). She said she had fixed the problem and that she filled the prescription, and didn't know what my problem was. I said it wasn't about the script at that point, but her lack of trying to help and refusal to let me speak with anyone else. I came in to pick up the script and asked to speak to the store manager. The pharmacist looked up at me with the meanest expression I've ever seen and came around the counter toward me. I said I thought it was best we didn't speak at that point because we weren't going to get anywhere. She said "I agree, I'm not going to speak to you anyway, and I'm never going to fill any future prescriptions for you." I was shocked by this aggressive statement -- we weren't pals by any means, but to say that in front of other customers was shocking to say the least. I spoke to the store manager, who was completely dismissive of my issue. I said I didn't even need an apology, I just needed them to know that my experience was so poor. She suggested I find another pharmacy. Great. During this conversation, a tech came in the back to inform me that she (the pharmacy manager) was filing a complaint against ME for being RACIST. Shocked, I asked her on what grounds? She said it was because I told her that she couldn't read. I didn't say that (I asked for anyone else who COULD read. It's not the nicest thing I've ever said, but it is by no means RACIST!). So, now they are gossiping about me in front of other customers and slandering me as well. The store manager shrugs it off, even though she was present for most of this! I did file a complaint a month ago, spoke to RiteAid corporate, and had no resolution or follow-up from them since. BUT, my script did auto-refill, and I picked it up without incident a few weeks later. I decided that although it was upsetting to be called racist and for the entire staff to discuss my personal information in front of other customers, I would let it go. I didn't want to deal with any more unpleasantness. Yesterday, my husband went to pick up the script for me that I had to manually call in for a refill (surprise surprise the auto refill didn't happen again...wonder how that magically happened). They REFUSED to fill the script, stating that because the State's Pharmacy Board contacted them about a complaint, they wouldn't fill my prescription as a result (read: retaliation).
