Patrick was an absolute delight guiding us through our first outdoor climbing experience. He introduced us to all the kit and safety precautions with professionalism and clarity, all the while giving us a spectacularly fun day. We felt safe every minute, learned tonnes, and look forward to coming back again for another day of climbing with Ridgeline.
Ridgeline delivered the perfect guiding experience for me, helping me achieve a life-long goal of reaching the south summit of Mount Victoria. Patrick is a highly skilled mountain guide, he planned the climb meticulously, safely, professionally, and is just an amazing guy to climb with. Can't imagine working with any other company but Ridgeline. If you get a chance to climb with Patrick or anyone on his team, seize it. Already planning my next one.
Janet and I just returned home from a glorious week in the Rockies. We enlisted the services of Patrick at Ridgeline Guiding to organize and accompany us on our first adventure into the mountains in many years. First time with Patrick, and first time with a professional alpine guide. Turned out to be the best decision. Patrick lead us up to the Peyto Hut from the Peyto lake parking lot. We spent two days exploring, recovering and learning there and then we trekked over to the Bow Hut across the stunning Wapta Icefields where we got to the top of Onion. The arrangements were ‘tight’ and proper, the route finding and recommendations were great, and the food was plentiful and good. Importantly, it was our first time in this area and Patrick clearly put safety first and knew what he was doing. Finally, Patrick put his climbing and trekking and river crossing skills to great use while being respectful of our less accomplished capabilities. Patrick provided more than we could have expected and was a joy to be around. We will without hesitation use Patick Ridgeline again.
I did the Ice Climbing Course 1 which was a 2 day event, and I would like to give a big thanks to Patrick for making this trip safe and fun for the group! The whole experience was fantastic and there was plenty of climbing to do! Highly recommend this course if you are looking to learn how to ice climb! I will definitely be back for a continued ice climbing course, and for sure rock climbing as well!
My wife and I did our first privately guided multi-pitch climb with Patrick in Banff on August 12th. We loved the entire experience. All of my pre-trip communication was with Chelsea and she did a fantastic job of answering all my questions and working with me to find the best possible date that worked for both of us. In fact, I had a date preference which wasn't initially available but opened up last minute and she made sure to reach out and get us moved over to our preferred date. On the day itself, we had such a great time climbing with Patrick. He is incredibly friendly and a joy to climb with, but he is also an excellent teacher and very thorough when it comes to safety. I hope to return to the Canadian Rockies at some point and climb with Ridgeline again!
Patrick is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and an efficient teacher. I have very limited climbing experience but was able to exceed my expectations for the day. I would not hesitate to go out with him again and build on this experience. It was a challenging and fun experience.
Our community focuses on empowering women in the outdoors. Patrick did just that with our group! He took the five of us women to the summit of Mt. Temple. It was truly the WOW factor and honestly, we couldn’t have found a more caring and dedicated guide. He was confident and calm and made everyone feel comfortable. Ridgeline Guiding surpassed our expectations and now we have memories that will last a lifetime as this was a bucket list for all of us. As an Ambassador of Women Who Explore, I highly recommend Patrick. He made the day so much fun for all of us and each of us felt safe. Thank-you so much Patrick! Patrick is a great teacher, and knows his stuff. My wife and I headed out with him on a private tour on our honeymoon and had an absolute blast. We didn't want any crowds and wanted more of a "real deal" experience for our first climbing experience and he delivered. If you are experienced, or just looking to get out for your firs time this is the guide for you. Great conservation, great climbing, well worth it!
