Rideau has many different rooms and halls, and offersnexceptional services for a funeral or a celebration of life service.nnWhat I particularly like is that you can have the viewing, service, and refreshments all in the same building.

I had lost my father about 3 months ago Feb 12 2024 and the staff put my mind, heart and soul at ease. The staff from the first person spoken to to the very least, were so respectful, efficient, caring, kind to me and my family in this time of loss. The staff went above and beyond to alleviate stress during a difficult time, providing excellent service and support. They answered all my questions and even some that I did not think to ask. I found that Serge particularly, went above and beyond in making sure all that was needed or wanted was taken care of. I also would like to give a big thank you to Gabrielle ? and Genevieve ? for the work they did to make my father look a million times better than when he passed away. He was always conscious of the way he looked and I believe he would been proud of the work they did.nThank you Bruno, Serge, Gabrielle ?, Genevieve ?, Melanie, Robert, Wendy and everyone else...nJohn D.

Thoughtful & caring... all of our needs and expectations were met or exceeded. There was nothing that I can think of that could have, or should have, been done any differently or better. A funeral/memorial service isn't something that I ever imagined could have so many 'moving parts', and Rideau Funeral Home made sure that all the 'gears' turned smoothly, effectively, and with care and dignity. Special mention of the on-hand staff and reception personnel that made us feel like this event was the most important thing happening on the planet at the that time. THANK YOU!

Makeup job completely done. Amazingly up until the top hand. Which they completely neglected to do. How do you miss the top hand? And if bruise nails are a problem why can my nail technician make my nails look very natural with acrylic powder nothing more so I thought an open casket. You would have a loved one match and look as close to as they did when they were alive. Well I can tell you my grandmother's hand was not black nor were her nails bruised so I get that the body is going to lose its color. But how can you do the rest? Amazingly yet the top hand is completely not done and watched. That was one issue. Not to mention that they knew their systems were not working for being able to record and film the service. Did they bother to mention that given that we've specifically requested that it be filmed? Absolutely! It wasn't being filmed because they were unable to absolutely. But at least we could have taken proper action and even if one of us had to go from my phone it would have been better than nothing. We have family who couldn't make it and they were unable to have the closure they would have had. At least if they could have seen her and been there for her. Even if it wasn't being physically there, he deserved to happen and not to mention my cousin is a camera person. He was more than willing to be there with his camera but he was told that no it's covered. The funeral home is going to take care of it well, not sure as hell didn't happen. Frankly, I am beyond overwhelmed about the hand. I've had nightmares about it and wants to come sore. So they told us that her hand is really bruised up. They couldn't do makeup yet. I can tell that there's no makeup on that end first of all, so it's not even like. Oh, it's just a lot of bruising. No no. It was not even done but even if it was severely bruised that the makeup couldn't cover properly, why not? Let us know that before hand so we could have maybe had the ability to save their possibility to put gloves on. I know my grandmother doesn't work gloves but it would have been better than a seeing her hand black as that. That was scary, especially since I saw that from the entrance. I didn't even get to the casket yet and the first thing I saw was that black hand and I had a panic attack. I literally couldn't go up to a casket for a long time. It took me a while to get over that that was not the closure I was expecting and it was not what she deserved. My grandmother was a very elegant lady and she's very traditional and she should have been given the best my grandfather paid for the best. He put out a lot of money for the woman. He just loved for 70 years and frankly it was. They really dropped the ball and this is very somber time where people like me who are dealing with a lost beloved, a funeral service that didn't go well from the makeup all the way to having it filmed so that people who wanted to be there who couldn't be there at least able to view it. That's great. In this day and age with cell phones, even if that was like the only resort at least it would have been better than nothing. I would have appreciated knowing rather than not knowing and being kept in the dark

Jardins Commémoratifs et Salon Funéraire Rideau Rideau Funeral Home & Cemetery provided a respectful and empathetic service throughout the day and events. The premises were impeccably clean. The staff were professional, competent and attentive while providing safety during these COVID times. The dining reception area staff were equally professional, courteous and constantly helpful to the family and guests. It all helped for a day of being kind, dignified, and efficient service throughout the day.
