Rideau Community Health Services

I've only encountered super helpful people working there. It has foodbank services, and a really nice social worker that is helping me find places where I can meet like-minded people, as I'm new in town. They also have doctors, but apply online and wait 6 months aaand you have to not have a doctor. I find that policy extremely dangerous for people. Say a person had a disability and was moved into housing here, and had a doctor from previous address, need prescriptions, etc. The individual would be without a doctor and their medication. That is a sickcare policy, not a caring Healthcare policy. That needs to change! Highly unethical.

Overall, the centre is a family friendly place when needing medical care. The only drawback is that when trying to renew a prescription, they don't seem to be in a rush. It took me almost two weeks to get my prescription refilled.

I have had a horrible experience here and I wasn’t even a patient yet . I have been unable to get a dr in my city and have been extremely sick . I had a call with dr Dorward and he seemed pleasant and assured me he would never treat me poorly like others had. Until they did . The clinic manager refused to let me access the dr bc I couldn’t travel due to my poor health. This is out of my control. I expressed the inability To travel due to my medical health and the response i got was “ no you’re fine to travel.” I am an adult and I am well as aware whether i can travel due to my health I don’t need another adult I've never met telling me about it without ever meeting me Or assessing me . essentially they were ok with treating me as long as I’m not sick . I just had to be well enough to travel and then I would have been even all allowed a dr. Drs in 2022: if you aren't sick we will take you; if you are sick we will make sure you have no access to dr. The dr let me down and it’s shouldn’t be one persons choice whether im allowed to get care from a dr.

Been going here all my life, very satisfied with the care I have been given. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Couldn't be happier!

After waiting months for an in person visit with a dietitian and RPN, I was met by just a dietitian, the rpn booked the day off. Fast forward 2 months... next appointment once again no RPN. I should be entitled to the health care professionals I was told I would receive. Apparently not!

After being a patient here my whole life, im extremely disappointed in the attention and care that ive received; specifically lately. Ive been transferred to 3 different np’s in the past year and have had MANY issues regarding confidentiality, in which they have been extremely unhelpful and rude when i reached out to solve the issues. Was there a few months back regarding issues with my head and they have me mixed with someone else insisting it was about my wrist.. I expected better and am very disappointed.

Extremely incompetant and useless staff i can promise you they will NOT help you in any way shape or form

Scentfree is not enforced, reception area caused asthma attack while I registered. Took a seat only to be bombarded by the odor of offesive cigarette smoke. I took the furthest seat away, directly beside the odors omitted at the coat rack. While I waited I got the pleasure of smelling all who entered. I know I am not alone with this difficulty, a quiet seating area away from this would be a wonderful solution for myself as well as others with such difficulties. A doctor's office is not suppose to be the biggest health trigger you encounter in a day.

Reception change appointments without contacting patients delaying access to care, treatment and results. Referrals do not get sent with a timely fashion or forgotten until a follow up call is made. Medical staff ignore important symptoms, waste time ordering useless test as a result diagnosis are missed until it is too late. If you use this clinic I advise you step up and be an advocate.

They seem afraid to diagnose unfound old injuries and gaslight patients. Tisk tisk
