Restaurant L'Express

The food was edible but it was not good and the price was too high for the quality, however I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that some of their other plates taste a lot better. I did not have the pizza even if that is why I went to this restaurant in the first place. The pizzas that I saw other people eating looked very good. I got here at around 7:10-7:15 on a Thursday night I did not know, but the restaurant closes at 8. The welcome I received was not warm at all, and once I was seated and given a menu, I was told that there was no more ordering pizza and no more full course meals and to order quick or I would have to select from a ‘express menu’. We did order quick but the wait for our food was very long. To be honest the way I was spoken to and received was borderline rude, it made me feel unwelcomed and actually pissed me off alot BUT, TO BE FAIR I would have probably been similarly sharp with clients if I had been in the position of the waitress. She was alone and restaurant was full. There were far too many people and tables for one waitress. I have worked as a waitress in the past and I can say the fact that she managed to take care of all those customers in and of itself is an accomplishment. So yes, she might not have been warm and friendly and she was rather sharp but I can imagine that after an entire day of working alone in a restaurant that is at it’s full capacity, I would be in a similar mood. She was doing the best she could in what was clearly not an ideal situation, I believe that there was staff that did not show up for work. Therefore despite everything, I believe that the waitress did a very good job at taking care of all of the clients that were there, she was going 100 miles an hour and managing to make sure that the food was served hot as soon as it was ready from the kitchen and that no one was missing anything. So all in all, I did not have a great experience, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt that I got there on what was a difficult evening and in the situation I believe the waitress did a fairly good job, that being said however the food that I ordered was mediocre at best. Perhaps some of the other dishes would have been better.

We were so happy to find this place. So many were closed. It was quite busy. Our waitress was great. We ordered the vegetarian pizza. I recommend! a 10 inch was plenty for two, going to try this method myself when we get home.

Very good, hearty breakfasts served by courteous staff. The fruit garnishes that come with the meal was very fresh and tasty. There is a bit of a wait during the busy times but even so, it is worth it. Would definitely go again.
