This restaurant has literally the best Chinese food. I've tried several places and no one would ever have the good food at Ken Ching. This place is recommended for family gatherings, atmosphere is not the romantic calm kind of atmosphere. Portion size is great as well. Tried several dishes at several visits and they all taste so delicious. Waiters are helpful and friendly although always in a rush. Highly suggested and definitely will visit again and again.
I don’t make it a habit to review restaurants poorly because they’ve had a tough time during the pandemic, but this time I need to be candid. We had the Combo #2, takeaway. The Wonton soup was fine, so were the rolls. The fried rice was also ok, not spectacular but good. Onto the peanut dumplings. They seemed to just be thrown into the styrofoam container and topped with sauce. They stuck to the container and to each other and were just a mess see photo. The General Tao was also pretty awful. I’m confident enough to say that I’ve made better homemade General Tao. It was 90% batter, which in turn was over-fried. The sauce on both of those dishes were ok though. Overall for $51 tax-in, you’re getting a lot of food, but one must weigh whether they value quantity over quality. In this case, I would have been content with less in favor of the poor quality I reluctantly consumed. Won’t be back.
We tried chicken general tao, steam rice and Cantonese chicken noodles, it was so tasty and delicious. They served very good portion. The best Chinese food in Laval. I'll definitely recomend it!
I have never been to a Chinese restaurant that had the most bland taste and lack of ingredients that make up a fried rice. Lacked green onion, onion, carrots, green peas and eggs. It had barely any chicken chicken fried rice but thats to be expected. Now besides that, the wonton is somewhat ok, lacks green onions again. The chicken satai chicken with peanut sauce tastes like chicken and vegetables, there is no tastes of an actual peanut sauce which is disappointing but not as bad as the fries rice. Now the chicken and its vegetables were good and fresh but lacks that final touch that makes a dish what it is. Lastly, i had the honey garlic spare ribs, which were surprisingly pretty good and the only reason why i gave them a 2 star rating. It was fresh and tasty and had the full ingredients unlike their other dishes. Besides the food, the staff were okay, place is clean. All thats missing is the completion of their dishes. You cannot list things and barely finish the actual dish. Will be my last visit at this restaurant.
Nice little restaurant, fried rice was good , the fried noodles were a little stale . Loved the salt pepper pork . Decent portions for price . Lots of options on menu . Varieties of soups and meat dishes . 8.3/10Food: 4/5
Dec 28,2023 Went for supper. Best hot and sour soup ever. Peanut butter dumplings were melt in your mouth. General Tso chicken was overly breaded but delicious. Szechuan shrimp was perfect. Spicy and saucy. Service was pffft. Still give them 4.8 out of 5 Excellent
So happy I did my research and chose this restaurant. A classic Chinese/Szechuan menu, huge variety. The hot & sour soup was possibly the best we've ever had, along with the peanut butter dumplings, the general tao chicken. All amazing, and generous portions. Thank you, Mr. Ken Ching. We'll be back! But next time, we'll remember to bring our own wine. Love the classic round tables with lazy susans perfect for sharing dishes!
Great food and atmosphere but their service needs a lot of help. They need to represent a welcoming friendly environment which they currently do not. They're not rude just not friendly either.Food: 5/5
The food is generally good, but very disappointed by the service with respect to takeout. Last night, we were tight for time so we called at 6 and asked how long it would take to get an order for 8 people prepared. They assured us it would take 45 minutes so we placed our order. Just before we hung up, they revised that and said it would take an hour. So we show up at 7 to pick up ur food and they tell us they are running a bit behind but it would only be a few minutes. Guess when we got our food? 8pm! A full 2 hours after we placed our order and a full hour past the time they said it would be ready. And despite the horrendous wait, they refused to give us a discount or even throw in some fortune cookies for our trouble. Nothing to compensate us at all. Had they made a small gesture, we might not be so upset, but now, I doubt we will ever go there again.
We had to order take out instead of dining in as previously planned. The food was delicious & tasty. To note, the General Tao chicken sauce was served separately from the chicken, we had to mix it ourselves. This was the first time that we had to do this, other places serve it already mixed. We will definitely be ordering again.
