Friendly staff and delicious food!
Excellent family restaurant. Great Italian food. They have the best mussels and fries, pasta are amazing. Great service, experience and taste. Definitely one of the best restaurant in Cowansville.
We have traveled extensively throughout the world, including Italy. Il Castello-Sweetsburgs food was quite good and well presented. The owner came to our table and told us about the 30-year history of the restaurant. We enjoyed his visit. I had the Linguine Daniela. It was very good. My wife had the Parmigiana. She was pleased with her choice. Our daughter, her husband and our grand-daughter were happy with their choices, although we were a bit surprised at the prices. What were not pleased with was our server. We spoke a mix of English and Spanish at our table between ourselves, although we were almost all fluently French, except me. Our server possible was not fond of Anglos or Hispanics and seemed to want to avoid us, while we watched her engage in happy conversation with other customers. Even when the owner told us that she was coming right out to take our order, she did, not but chose to speak and laugh with another couple and return to the kitchen. That was just one example. That sort of snobbery can ruin what could be an otherwise pleasant event. Overall, we were very pleased with our food but feel that the menu is a bit overpriced and the service was below par.

I have been living in the area for 10 years during the summer and had never heard about this place. It is by far a first class restaurant. Incredibly clean. Attention to detail and some of the best Italian food I ever had. A must go to spot.
Food is always delicious and the service is so impeccable. The owners are very friendly and personable. One of my favorite places to go!
Delightful setting during evening hours. An actual chef on site. Management is honorably polite and helpful. A genuinely unique menu, compared to your average restaurant. Bravo.
Our experience at Il Castello Restaurant was fabulous! One of the owners, Emelio, catered to our every need as if we were the only table in the house. In addition, our waitress could not have been more pleasant or accommodating. The food was hands down the best Italian food I have ever eaten. My dining partner claimed the same, and she has traveled to Italy. Each dish was beautifully plated, and each course introduced with perfect timing. Before we departed, the other owner, Jerry they are brothers, was introduced to us as the creator of our excellent meal. For a wonderful dining experience with great food, great staff, and personal attention with a friendliness Canadiens are famous for, I highly recommend Il Castello Restaurant in Cowansville. I am making plans to head there again!
I just read the nasty comment by Tiffany L and then looked at her other comments and it seems to me this person only likes to complain. This person should realize that arriving unannounced and with NO reservation on a Saturday evening, before the people who HAVE reserved have arrived, means that the possibilities of being seated are next to nil, especially at Il Castello. Just because some and perhaps most of the tables were empty when she arrived doesn't mean they weren't reserved. Did she really expect a reserved table to be given to her ? If this was done, what would happen when the people who did reserve arrive ? Tell them to wait ? I don't think so. That's not the way to run a good operation. I am sure that the owners of Il Castello will not care if Tiffany L never returns and I am sure that their many loyal customers will not be influenced in the least by her whining.
Dinner for 2, with bottle of lower cost wine, no appetizer, 1 dessert, and 2 espresso was $185 tax and gratuity included. Food was very good. So was service.
