Restaurant Au Vieux Duluth

Good Evening We just left the Greenfield Park/Brossard restaurant. Due to severe illness, I have not been to a restaurant in months. Decided, since I am feeling better, to go to Aux Vieux Duluth as it is a great restaurant. Everyone had chicken and I decided to get salmon for a beautiful protein based meal. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. Everyone enjoyed their chicken. My salmon was very dry and crusty on top and my potatoes were not cooked all the way through. Left half my meal. I did not finish. A shame. It will be a while before I return to this restaurant. In reply to the owner... Thank you for the apology for my meal tonight. Very prompt apology. Not sure what you mean by doing better as soon as it gets back to normal. What is normal. Restaurant was packed. Please elaborate on what you mean please. Thank you.

Fabulous dinner...such fresh ingredients and amazingly fresh salad. Lots of team work amongst the staff...the owner Tom was ever present in the restaurant speaking and joking with customers. Great dinner, great service.

We would come here every Friday at noon for our office dinner and the service is always perfect. Our favorite waitress works there and it is always so nice to see her! She's simply perfect and her smile always make our day! Thank you!

Great ambience and excellent friendly service and fluent English from Bianca Thank you!. Wife chose the place and she and my daughter enjoyed their chicken and escargot. Myself, not so much. I'm a vegan. I had to go vegetarian because there was not a single vegan dish on the menu. The vegetarian starter and main course were essential the same - Spanakopita. It came with a side of grilled veggies, which were completely tasteless, because the veggies were apparently grilled with no seasonings nor marinade.

My wife and I went for a takeout order. The service was excellent but now I have to get to the nitty gritty about the food. We ordered the surf and turf plate my filet mignon was not medium well as I asked it was less than medium the shrimp were excellent except for the black poop line that is supposed to be cleaned was still there cooked under the batter. The potatoes were very oily and bland and my wife had the shrimp platter and asked for no rice but more salad but instead got the same size salad as me so she was not compensated for the no rice. The calamari were terrible they were extremely undercooked like my steak the batter was hanging off and they were chewy as and elastic band . The desserts were good but the size for the price is not right. I might give them another try one day but for now I think I’ll go to casa grecque.
