This place is an institution. Although I'm only giving them 4 stars because I feel like they use to give bigger portions of meat. I could be mistaken but unlikely seeing how I eat here alot. Again you can't go wrong coming here. Warm loving atmosphere with amazing staff. The old school culinary culture at Regal never disappoints.
If you want an old school deli experience, go to Regal! Delis are an endangered species and we have to support them to keep them existing. This was my first time at Regal, but it was like I have been going there my whole life. It’s everything I associate with an old school deli. The vintage decor. The big glass case. The waitress who runs the show and knows all the regulars. Cole slaw very fresh. Pickles on point. Corned beef perfectly portioned on rye that melts into the meat. Egg barley with mushrooms and onions was impressive. Really good mustard. Washed down by a cold Dr Brown’s root beer. It doesn’t get more deli than that.
My first visit after reading about their imminent closure. We can’t lose any more Jewish delis! The owners told me that their longtime chef is buying the business for the next generation! Great news! Also great was the pastrami sandwich on rye, kasha knishe, cole slaw, AND a frankfurter! I also got a quart of matzoh ball soup to go! I’m kvelling! And my server was my the granddaughter of the owners! She was spot-on! I can’t wait to come back!
This Deli I’ve been going to since 1972-73 it’s the best pastrami and cornbeef anywhere. The family owned restaurant treats you like family. I’ve handed down my tradition to my daughter and she brings her family there now. Thank you to the Weiss Family for serving our family and community
The matzoh ball soup and traditional Jewish options here truly brought me back to life. There aren’t many places on LI any more where you can sit down and enjoy potato pancakes and corned beef, and Regal doesn’t disappoint. Our waitress was so kind to us, everything was perfect and our lunch was quite reasonable in cost. I can’t believe I haven’t dined in before this. Can’t wait to come back here soon. Highly recommended!
This is a great restaurant with friendly staff. My family and I visit Regal weekly. Unfortunately they are going out of business. I believe the problem is their location. TD bank has obscured people seeing Regal so no new customers that way and also TD bank has taken over Regal's parking lot. This forces people to park illegally to visit Regal. If regal moved down the block at country pointe or near the old shoprite location they would be vastly successful again. But right now there location is awful so that is why they are going out of business.
Blast from the past! Good old Jewish Deli... nicely prepared pastrami and corned beef sandwiches piled high, great frenchfrys too, just delish! Add a bowl of matzoh ball soup and this completes the experience.
Haven't gone there in several years. Food was Average deli food. Remember two men who looked like brothers one more unfriendly than the other. They always acted like they were doing me a favor by allowing me to patronize their establishment..stopped going there because of them.
Absolutely delicious food. Ordered 2 overstuffed pastrami sandwiches and 1 regular pastrami sandwich, all on rye bread. Bill was $65. I would've given 5 stars if the price was more reasonable. Service was friendly but slow. Still worth the visit.
Not a Kosher establishment. Regal doesn't have any independent Kosher certification as required by New York State.
