Had an amazing meal in a fantastic restaurant the other day with my lovely wife! @redhousekingston treated us to some phenomenal kimchi fries and I followed up with a pretty decent portobello burger. Big words for a meat eater. I was so into the food I forgot to take any photos of it but trust me it looked as good as it tasted. 10/10 recommend #kingston #restaurant #goodeats #woodgrain #iphonephotograghy
Had the Jambalaya and hubby had the Chicken Penne, both were good... but at the price point the portions could have been better. Service was good, beer was cold. Not wowed but good....
Had dinner at Red House last night and it was delicious! We had a reservation and got seated on time, at a table in the back portion of the restaurant. It took a little bit 10/15 minutes for our waitress to come for our drink order but it was definitely a busy night. We ordered the deep fried pickles as a starter and they came fast and HOT. Our mains were jambalaya, pan-seared trout and southwest steak rice bowl. Everything was delicious and hot. Steak was cooked perfectly. Needless to say there were 3 empty and clean plates on our table once we were finished. My only complaints would be that getting drinks took a bit longer than expected, and the music was a little loud to have conversation. Pia greeted us and sat as at our table; very friendly! Olivia was our server; very personable and attentive. We asked about the history of the building and was able to give a back story. And had a good knowledge of the beers they offer to help us choose our drinks. All in all, would definitely recommend and will be going back!
If you are in Kingston for a visit or if you live here, this is a place to try. The Kimchi Fries were amazing. We also had deep fried pickles, arancini and chicken bites as for buffalo sauce. We paired it with a nice Cobblestone Stout and Aperol Spritz respectively. To top it off, the place has a great ambiance and the staff are friendly. It was a perfect time.
Rustic decor and nice vibe. Flat bread was good. Jambalaya was cold... even sent it back and still came back cold. Poor presentation with a corn muffin plopped in the middle of it. Disappointing after recommended to us.
A wonderful place to stop and grab a bite to eat. The staff is friendly and they have a nice selection of local drinks on tap. The inside is beautiful. I highly recommend the Brussel Sprouts and the Halumi Enchiladas. Theit choice of tap cider is very refreshing in these hot and humid times. Would totally come back.
This place has a natural charm. The owners are not bean-counters: they care about their staff, and it shows in the service. Maybe the best looking bar in the city. Food: solid, beer options: excellent. Don't forget that the tall boy/canned beer selection is first rate, should you want to not opt for draft. Music is also well thought out; maybe best mustard ever that goes w chicken bites; also, the big tables in the middle of the room, as well as the lower area, make it textbook ideal for an event should you ever want to rent it. Solid joint.
Absolutely incredible food here! Had the pork belly sandwich and it was outrageously amazing! The fries at this place are cooked to perfection and are some of the best I’ve ever had. Just an overall outstanding dining experience
Didn't have plans for NYE with the hubby and let me just say, everything came together tonight! On my first call, their reservations were already full, but the server still went ahead and made accommodations to fit us into their bookings, and since the NYE event was sold out, we were expecting to leave after dinner. On arriving, the person greeting us at the door welcome us and sold us two tickets, which allowed us to stay for the full night. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, and met our accessibility requests. I ordered the 10oz steak and veggies, hubby ordered the goulash, the meat was tender and was full of flavour. We have never been to an establishment where we felt so welcomed and was met with this quality of food, and we've travelled to several dozen countries between the two of us. Thank you staff at The Red House! Happy New Years!!!
Popped in for a beer after a long day. Great staff and atmosphere so decided to stay for another. Barman Branden was very friendly and helpful. Didn't eat but the food we saw looked good so we have booked a table for tomorrow evening.Service: 5/5
