Red Apple Restaurant

Red Apple is one of those interesting hole in the wall places that has a very unique character. It is well located for those near the downtown area of Waterloo. The place is part restaurant and part Chinese gift store. They have a large menu and offer 33 different lunch specials for $6.25 and 44 Dinner specials from $7.75. On Tuesdays the lunch specials are just $5.00 dinner specials are $6.00. They also have a kids menu that has some non-Chinese items such as Chicken Nuggets. The food has always been good and their portion sizes for the price you pay is outstanding. The only downsides is that their service can be slow at times but if you are picking up in their store or eating in they do offer Egg Drop soup and I wish the inside of their restaurant was better kept up. It is not dirty but just disorganized and messy. Beyond that the Red Apple is good and inexpensive place for Chinese Food.

Ordered food for delivery at 7:50. It is now 9:05, still no food. They called at 8:05 to ask about my address and I explained clearly where it was at and how to find it on GPS and at 9:05 have gears nothing from them. I will not order from then again.

I work for a business that frequenly orders from Red Apple, but others had recently had problems placing orders by phone. I decided to try once more and called to place an order but their phone kept rolling over to their fax. After several minutes and attempts, someone finally answered and before I could speak, said, "We are closing soon," and hung up on me. Luckily, a competitor with the same hours was willing to take our order. Thanks East China! You'll get our orders from now on!

Ever since Red Apple opened in Waterloo I have been eating there. The have tasty food, great customer service, and speedy delivery. When food arrives its always hot and fresh. I have dined in the restaurant and its a great experience. It's definitely one of favorite place to eat.

What a disappointment. Traveling through Waterloo we stopped here for carry out. Slow service. While eating egg rolls grease poured out all over new shirt which is now ruined. Never had an egg roll that dripped grease. Hot and Spicy soup had a layer of grease on top so didn't eat it. The Sesame Chicken had an odd taste so never finished it. Would NOT recommend this place.
