REACHOUT Thrift Store, proudly supports peninsula youth with financial contributions. We appreciate that you shop here, donate here and volunteer here!

Story

Reachout Ministries began over 35 years ago. In the beginning, we had a youth chaplain on a part-time basis. Meetings were held, with refreshments served. Bible studies as well as one on one support to many youths. Reachout Ministries started the 1st thrift store on the Peninsula. This helped to fund salaries as well as activities.
We donate our money to the kids of the Peninsula, along with Naselle and the Naselle Youth Camp. Over the last 4 years, we have donated over $82,765.00. These monies help to pay for summer camps, band programs, The Boys and Girls club, TechTrek scholarships, all the beads for the reading program at OB school district. Along with youth mission trips. For Naselle Youth Camp, we provide bibles, monthly birthday cake and ice cream, along with annual parties for Christmas and New Years. In addition, REACHOUT Thrift Store purchases the material for the Christmas stockings, for our local church. The ladies of the church sew fill them.
We are in need of volunteers to help run our store. Our hours are Monday through Saturday, from 10-4. Three hours a day, morning or afternoon. Your time and effort would be greatly appreciated.

I first want to say that the one star review given for this store because the map on Google was incorrect is very unfair. I also want to mention the location is right next to (in the same parking lot) as the Thai restaurant that can be seen from the street. I give Reach Out Thrift Store 5 stars because I feel it's the BEST thrift shop in the area for 5 reasons. First, the prices are not too high (a problem with many second hand stores). Second, they have useful items and good turnover (new things regularly). Third, they inspect and test electronic & mechanical items so you know they are in working condition. Fourth, the staff is very friendly and helpful*. And last but not least - all profits go to a good cause - helping local kids at risk. I shop there regularly and I donate too, whenever I can. I should also mention that I don't shop there because I have to. I shop there mainly because I like to save money and help the kids. I tell people this not because I want them to know I'm not "poor", but because I want to remind people that shopping at a thrift store is not just for those who can't afford full priced stores - it's for anyone who wants to save money. And again, in the case of Reach Out, it's also to help the kids. * I also use to shop regularly at His Supper Table thrift shop directly across the street (across the parking lot, to the south) but no longer shop there because too often I find people working there are snippy and rude. Not all that work at the His Supper Table thrift shop are rude (some are extremely nice), but enough of the volunteers are rude so that it keeps me from shopping at His Supper Table now. It's sad that personality flaws of volunteers can keep an organization that helps others from getting the customers, revenue and donations they need, but that's exactly what happens. This is why I no longer donate or shop at His Supper Table. I go to Reach Out instead, faithfully.

Large selection of mens, womens, and kids clothing. Fill a bag with clothes for $5 is great. Nice selection of household, books, and collectibles.

Came here while we are on vaycay, Amazing prices, super convenient to the beach, and the sweetest of ladies working. Grabbed more than we even came in for!
