We were sat upstairs, the ambience isn’t as nice as downstairs.nnThe pizza oven wasn’t working, had we known we wouldn’t have came after booking over the phone tonight. It was our first time and if I’m honest we’re a little disappointed.nnThe pasta sauce was bland and just lacked flavour.nnThe service was great.nnI would try again but not in a hurry as we paid $170+ for 2x wines, 2x beers, a salad, soup, 2 pastas which didn’t taste like much.
I stopped here on a quick layover and found this hidden gem. I would consider flying to Calgary just for another taste of hospitality, food and Alfredo’s negroni. Absolute gem highly recommend!!
Great atmosphere from the moment you walk in the door. Awesome bruschetta and tortellini. We had a terrific dinner and would definitely go back.

Talk about a hidden gem, Rea's Italian Cucina is a delightful restaurant offering an authentic Italian dining experience. This family run establishment has a warm and inviting ambiance that makes you feel like you’re a guest in someone’s home.nnRea's menu is extensive with a wide array of traditional Italian dishes crafted from fresh, high-quality ingredients. There’s something for everyone here including classic pasta dishes like Spaghetti Carbonara and Lasagna, thin-crust pizzas and hearty entrees. Everything was cooked to perfection and portion sizes were generous.nnWe found the service to be excellent - honestly what you would expect being served by one of your own family members. We got recommendations on both meals and wine pairing for the evening and never felt any pressure or upselling. The staff was obviously very knowledgeable and genuinely focused on us having the best experience possible.nnThe restaurant's atmosphere is comfortable but I wouldn't say it’s trendy. I personally see this as a positive given all the focus and energy is put into the food. I think this would be a great place for any occasion and they seem to be able to accommodate larger groups. A reservation is recommended given the popularity and modest seating available.nnRea's is a must-try for anyone seeking a genuine taste of Italy!
