Alex our waiter was fabulous. He was so fabulous we came back two days in a row. These guys run a happy hour and it's a genuine happy hour. They are happy for you to drink as much as possible in that time and no up selling or pushing to spend more. Alex's upbeat and friendly nature and knowledge of the food is exceptional. His choices were spot on. Love their pizzas, beautifully strong and well made cocktails. Love this place. Highly recommended. Very clean and well organised.
Tried Barbarella due to the hype of its opening months ago. To put it simply it is a competitor to Cactus club/Earls/Joeys. Barbarella is an Italian influence vibrant spot on Stephen avenue. The atmosphere is great, drinks are very good but the price point doesn’t justify. Food overall is fresh and average but doesn’t leave much of a lasting impression unlike other Italian spots in the city. Overall great atmosphere, slower service, good drinks and average food.
This place is excellent. Brought my wife here for her birthday dinner. Had the calamari, tomato dip, beet salad, eggplant pizza, and the ravioli. Excellent.nnBrad was our server and was excellent. He took good care of us, and made some excellent suggestions.nn10/10. I’m coming back for sure. The parking situation is a bit of a drag, but that’s not the restaurants problem
Barbarella offers amazing Italian food that tastes almost like home. The pastas are a must-try, perfectly al dente, and full of flavor. Every dish feels authentic and delicious.nnThe service was great, with appetizers coming out quickly for our group of seven, all within 15 minutes. The waiter was attentive and even helped us pack up leftovers, which was a nice touch.nnThe atmosphere is stylish and welcoming, whether you're just grabbing drinks or having a fancy dinner. It's definitely on the fancier side, but the prices are reasonable, with a filling pizza costing around 22 dollars. Overall, great value for a great experience.
Barbarella was everything we expected it to be. Food was so good! Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and staff was so helpful and friendly. Service was effective and so quick! The atmosphere was great and also they play good music. The concept of the place is also so authentic.nAlso, we are traveling in a big group and most of the restaurants downtown wouldn’t have us, but the hostess at Barbarella was so helpful and kind and managed to seat us in two different tables without hesitation.nI would definitely recommend giving it a try if you find yourself in DT Calgary!
