If I could give this 4.5 stars I would. Overall everything was good. We got a burger and the fish n chips. I ended up here because they were in the newspaper as the second best place in Snohomish county for a burger. I don't think the burger here is anything special... It's a fast food quality burger in my opinion. It tastes fine but it's just a forzen patty. The fish n chips which they claim are "the best you'll find anywhere" were pretty good. I read the reviews before and I agree 1 tarter won't quite cut it since you have fries as well so we bought another tarter. The fish was very crispy and had good flavor. The fries were half crispy and half soggy/soft. I would come back here again and probably order the fish n chips again and maybe try the chicken instead of a burger. For the type of place this is, I got what I expected and paid a fair price.
We make a monthly pilgrimage to Ray's Drive-In for their fish and chips. Good fish and chips start with good fish. Ray's understands this. They serve batter dipped filets with fries made from fresh cut potatoes. This level of quality isn't cheap. Fortunately the portions are so large that we save 2 pieces of fish and buy an extra tartar sauce so we can have fish sandwiches the next day. Ray's also serves burgers. The fish is so good I have never tempted to try anything else. The staff is friendly and efficient at keeping up with lines of cars driving through and people walking up. If you love fish and chips, you will love Ray's Drive-In.
Yo, this fish and chips SLAPS. I got the four price but I probably would have been fine with only 2 or 3, they are that big! Fries are those good fries, with the skin still on some of the end pieces, and a salty goodness. Tarter sauce was perfect service was quick and the lady at the register was a sweetheart. Definitely going back next time I'm in town
This place is right down the street from my work and I have been trying new places in the area lately. First off, great quality food. The reason I give it 3/5 stars is I paid $11.00 for the fish and chips meal, and the amount of food in the basket didn’t even fill the whole basket.. they could’ve at least added another fillet or more fries. On top of all that I only was given a single tarter sauce and it’s not enough for all 4 fillets that they give you.
Was super excited to try their fish n chips and double double burgers, but my husband and I ended up getting super disappointed. We paid $39 for soggy fries with some of them clearly not fully cooked since the middle of the fries when you bite them are still are hard and super raw. The fry tasted like it was deep fried in old or re-used cooking oil. Also, the fish n chips are super dry, as dry as the Sahara Desert we ended up removing the batter and gave the fish to the cats!! RUN and take your money somewhere else!
This place is a little hole in the wall . I had the fish and chips. The fries are the homemade kind with the skin on them perfectly salted and crispy goodness you get 4 finger length pi cres of fish 2 fingers wide crispy and a nice thin batter The tarter sauce is freaking amazing, YUM. Definitely be back.
I was craving some beer battered fish n' chips and Ray's had them! They were delicious! In the pic I had the 2 piece basket I already ate one before I took the picture lol.Food: 5/5
I've driven by this place for years and finally listened to the good reviews and stopped by on my way home from work. I've been back once already for the great fish and chips. The rest of the menu looks good but it is hard to pass up the fish! The tarter sauce is great - I'm partial to this sweet pickle style. The staff is friendly and helpful with menu suggestions and information. Parking: Just a few spots if you want to get out a stretch your legs instead of going thru the drive thru.
I've lived in Everett for just a little over a year I was born and raised here in Washington my whole life to this day I'm trying to figure out what people see in this hamburger joint. Just recently I tried the place out for the very first time and I'll be quite honest I wasn't impressed with the fish and chips, nor was I impressed with the burgers in general and not too mention the shakes are nothing to go home about. Thoroughly disappointed and not sure what all the hype is about Ray's Drive in.
I love small drive in hamburger joints and Ray's is definitely now one of those! I've only been there twice now, but I see many future visits to Ray's. Admittedly, I've not yet had a hamburger there, just the fries and milk shake. But those fries and milk shake were killer and conveyed a lot! I love fries with tartar sauce and ketchup and Ray's had fantastic fries! Hot, plenty of them, and not too soft or too hard. Along with the fries I had a banana milk shake. This was one of the best banana milkshakes I've ever had! So many places use a flavoring that just tastes artificial, nothing like a banana. Whatever flavoring Ray's is using, I hope they continue! When I've stopped at Ray's it was in order to have some respite from the awful rush hour traffic commute from Everett to Marysville. Located right on Broadway, Ray's was a convenient stop that was sooo appreciated!
