Ramen Isshin is a cozy spot perfect for a bowl of hot ramen. Despite the small setup and a 20-minute wait, we enjoyed the experience. The menu is simple, and we tried their most popular options a slightly spicy ramen and a creamy one. Both were flavorful and satisfying. Worth the visit!
Came as a group of 4, waited for nearly an hour to get a table. The broth was hot and full of unami, best for the cold winter. But I did think it was a bit on the salty + oily side. But this is all based on personal taste really - im not the biggest fan of ramen in general. I liked the runny egg the most, and the slices of pork were good - but as usual its very fatty. Prices are honestly pretty expensive, especially the sides. We ordered vegetarian nuggets which were 8$ - the nuggets were small and there were only a few.
Imagine this: you’re walking around College and Bathurst in the middle of winter and it’s so cold that you can’t feel your face and your feet have become popsicles. Before you is a glimmering beam of light emitting from a quaint ramen shop. You wander inside, lured by the aroma of warm garlicky broth and noodles. Upon ordering, you’re served your meal within 5 minutes. After gobbling down your food you’re left with a satisfying feeling in your stomach. A fullness like you’ve never had before. This isn’t just ramen. It’s Ramen Isshin.
Finally visited Toronto and had the privilege of catching Ramen Isshin on our trip. Service was friendly but slow, and the served a few tables that seated after us before checking in with us seemed like the favored some regulars. That said, we were still served well once served. The ramen did not disappoint. The portions are large, and the flavors are bold and delightful. All three of us ordered different dishes, and we all were delighted by the flavors.
I love this Ramen Spot, especially the Red Dragon ramen. We got that along with the Aged Tofu and Deep Fried Gyoza for starters. My friend got the Stone Bowl Shoyu Kotteri Tsukemen. Everything tasted great and the service here is great too.
