We've proudly been Thurston County's only local grocer since 1944. For more than 70 years our passion has been local & specialty foods.

Story

We have been in the business of feeding Thurston County since 1944. Ralph’s and Bayview Thriftway are the only two locally-owned, independent supermarkets in the South Sound. We feature many local, organic and dietary special products to fit your family's needs. We are a fourth generation family-owned & operated business and believe that it is our privilege and responsibility to return profits to the local community in as many ways as possible.

Practically a life-long shopper here. Prices are higher than other stores on average. I like knowing the staff, both in the grocery part and in the pharmacy. Good caring service. The store is on the smaller size - not a warehouse or super store so it’s quicker to get around to stuff, making it easier for my legs.

The only accurate way to describe their produce philosophy is "over-ripe and over-priced". The only kindness i could afford them is "they're there". I kinda wonder if all the 5 star reviews are being left by people getting paid to be nice. This weeks hijinks, a bushel of rotten watermelons bring sold for full price. Suggested to the checkout person they be pulled and was stared at blankly.

The best part of Ralph's is the quality of the products in each department. It's not a giant warehouse store so it's easy to figure out where the things you need are, and quick to get through every aisle. The comfortable size of the store makes it that much more impressive that Ralph's seems to have a great tasting option for any food item you want. I need to also mention the helpful and friendly staff. They make it feel like a neighborhood store where you go to because you need ingredients for dinner, but enjoy being there when you do go.

If you like paying 50% more for your groceries and have 50% less selection...this is the place for you! The cashiers are slow, usually only one working at any given time. Also, now they have fun "anti-theft" wheels on the carts which are a blast to drag around the store. Go elsewhere unless you NEED groceries now.

This store is super convenient place to shop, Open 24hrs a day. However Ralph's thriftway is also super expensive. Its a has a lot of organic food and healthier choices. They sell food that a lot of other grocery stores don't.
