Queen City Yacht Club

Story

Founded in 1889, QCYC is one of Toronto's oldest sailing clubs. It's a community of sailors and friends located on parkland on Algonquin Island in the Toronto harbour - just minutes from downtown. Our boats are moored in a sheltered lagoon with a gorgeous view of the Toronto skyline.

Our beautiful clubhouse includes a restaurant, bar and Great Hall – home to our popular dances, concerts and dinners. We offer a full program of club cruises, club and inter club racing. Popular summer camp sailing lessons for children and adult keelboat lessons are open to members and non-members.

The Island ambience and sailing life at QCYC continue to attract members to their boats for entire weekends and as liveaboard commuters throughout the summer. And it may not be coincidental that Queen City annually entertains more boats from visiting clubs than any other yacht club on Lake Ontario.

Beauty, quiet, serenity. These describe an evening at Queen City Yacht Club off of Ward’s Island.
Top notch food and service! What a treat! Probably the best food of any of the Toronto Yacht clubs
One of the best views of the Toronto skyline from here.
Lovely spot to dock, eat, drink and have a good time.
The food & service is great. The head chef is a real stand-up guy, handsome too.
Like a second home, QCYC offers the small town community that is largely absent in a big city. An amazing group of people and an outstanding place to learn to sail and enjoy your boat
Great people! great environment! Great place to put your boat!
