The staff at Putnam Humane Society are exceptional- caring, loving, responsible.  The level of care that is given to these wonderful four legged beings is exceptional.  I highly recommend that if you are looking for a dog or cat to adopt that you come here.  Each four legged being is matched to a person(s) and his or her or their circumstances.   Please support them and the great work that they do to try to give a life to dogs and cats that have been abandoned, for whatever reason, or abused which is unconscionable.

Not keen on the animals living conditions first of all. Second , it took FOREVER for us to get a member to get us the dog we wanted to see, helped people who just walked in. But not us. Third, we decided on a dog. My husband and I filled out the form. Ready to take the dog home. Went home waiting for a call.... nothing..... 
If they were so eager to get the babies homes. You'd think they'd be eager to call me! 🙄

No-kill shelter. The staff loves animals, and it shows. Reasonable adoption fee includes shots.

Dedicated staff and volunteers, animals are well taken care of, and staff is knowledgeable re: each pet & placement.
